WBCOOP Main Event shenanigans

By: fuzzmuff @ 11:30 (EDT) / 290 / Comment ( 0 )

Not a great start to this WBCOOP Main Event. One of those where a lot of playable hands miss and I’m soon down to 7k from a starting stack of 10k. AJ heads up against a maniac, plus a couple of bluffs get me up to 11k.

Nothing for an hour and then KK followed by AA get me very little, but a massive bluff with T8 hearts, comes off. Hand 147 gives me Queens in the cut off, with blinds 150/300 and I have 10.8k. UTG raises to 900, I re-raise to 2.7k, then he goes all in for 6.3k and I call. Of course his AK flops an Ace but for once I get a bit of luck with a Q on the turn, putting me up to 17.9k.

I have AT on the button; I raise and see the flop 69T heads up with the small blind who is a bit loose. I bet the pot, he re-raises and I shove all in thinking he was on another steal with air but he calls with 78 and I’m out in 392nd place. Maybe I overdid it there, with 17k and blinds only 200/400, though I did have the spectre of having to go to work in an hour, but probably, I just overdid it. You live and learn. Back to the day job, which in my case, is actually an evening job

Anyway, I did enjoy my first WBCOOP, and even though I could only play 8 tournaments, I still had a good time and got myself 3 SCOOP tickets, which I'll probably use for the Micro Millions. Good luck to all those who'll be doing the same.
