How to suck at poker and other stories
Send PM

Getting it in good. I've heard that phrase so many times, but I'm losing sight of what it's supposed to mean. I seem to play for hours at a time then this happens, and it's unrelenting :

This is another situation where I bust out instead of being well placed.

Really. what is the point if I keep getting donks like this (insert expletive here) pulling rabbits out of hats.

This guy just gets in bad - 87 v QQ, J6 v AK, AT v AJ etc etc. OK, so he had me covered, but he was all in at risk with the others and survived.  I just need to be behind once and that's it I'm gone. Actually, I don't need to be behind for that to happen.

Is there some book I've missed out on? 'Donking For Dummies' or somesuch title.

I am trying to play well and trying not to suck at this game, but in fact it all just points to playing like a bingo donk for a bit of a laugh. Maybe I'd enjoy it more just playing bingo like them, but unlike them, I don't have money to burn.

Unsurprisingly the donk of this piece has just sucked out verses another massive stack, all in preflop to go into 1st, with A6 v TT. Just playing bingo. Usually I see players that bad just blow their stack, but he's donking his way to a big win.

Does this happen at all stakes I wonder?

I'm really enjoying watching the Barcelona EPT10, but all the advice given by the pros is of no use at these bingo micro stakes. If only I could afford not to play them.

Oh well, it looks like rain again.

I really must check out that book.
