WSOP 2013 ME final table heads up

By: fuzzmuff @ 02:53 (EST) / 192 / Comment ( 0 )

Well done to Ryan Riess on his win, played well and ran well. Jay Farber did seem to be card dead, even for heads up, but probably won't complain about $5M+ for runner-up.

Gotta say though, the coverage I saw on ESPN was terrible. Adverts every five minutes, and when there weren't ads, there were interviews with every family member and their panda that went on while hands were in progress in the background. Sacrilege. Then the slow pan to a shot of a river card being dealt, followed by a bet and a fold. Well, the start of a hand is not that important I suppose.

Maybe i've been spoit by the brilliant live coverage of the EPT.

Whatever, this is supposed to be the biggest poker tournament around, yet gets produced by people who obviously have no clue and couldn't careless about poker. Didn't even bother to hang around for the winners presentation. Why bother eh? I mean, he's only beat a field of 6000+ to win eight million dollars. Oh, and some sort of bracelet.

Oh well, back to the grind.
