Women in poker

By: galmedic @ 13:07 (EST) / 152 / Comment ( 1 )
Last night after finishing my first blog, I read a few posts on the topic of Women's tournaments and it really fired me up!  As a woman in poker I noticed that just like most jobs dominated by men, it is difficult to break your way in!  Lots of us have emotional reasons on both sides why or why not there should be a "special league" for Women.  Besides all of the things I could say about that- what I really want to say is that Poker is mostly dominated by Men- we all agree with this comment.... and men generally like being surrounded by women-right?  So why not have a special league that brings more Women into the traditionally male dominated game?  I could be wrong.  But how is this a bad thing?
You guys ask about an all male poker club- but is that what you really want- for us Women to show up to just watch and maybe serve you a drink or 5?  I think we have come farther than that.  Just because poker is about bullying your opponent- doesn't mean that Women can't compete!  I know a lot more girls who are bullies than Men.
Anyhow guys and gals- stop being so serious and just come and have some fun!
See ya at the tables!
