Zoom statistics - cbet success

By: hellhippo @ 06:56 (EST) / 119 / Comment ( 5 )

Playing regularly on Zoom generates a lot of hand history information in a relatively short amount of time. Since June last year I have about half a million hands posted at 2NL.

Recently  I have had the feeling that my continuation bets on the flop were not going through as smoothly as they were at first.

So what does the data say?

For a reasonably broad brush analysis I took my first and last 100K tranches and looked at the cbet success statistic.

For the first 100K I had a 56% cbet frequency, which was 2853 cbets made with 1341 sucessful, a success rate of 47.0%.

For the last 100K I had a 51% cbet frequency, which was 2247 cbets made with 984 successful, a success rate of 43.8%.

Is the difference significant?

Performing Pearson's chi-squared test yields a p-factor of 0.16 which indicates that "there is no presumption against the null hypothesis" ie that the cbet success is the same in the two samples.

And so my feeling does not seem to be backed up by the data.

However, the difference in my c-betting frequency is significant, a reaction to my impression that floating was on the increase.

So I can make adjustments accordingly.

I think that there is a lot of useful information to be extracted from analysing the Zoom dataset and I'll use this blog to post anything that seems interesting.
