Joe.... Can I have just a little Sugar????

By: hititflush @ 18:14 (EDT) / 367 / Comment ( 0 )

Morning all from Adelaide, Australia.... There are not many people close to me that  really have an understanding or that I can speak to about our game, so in my bewilderment at my exit from my tourney last night, I am seeking some guidence and/or reassurance that there is some sugar out there...

1st up... I am happy where my game is at... I have been playing online for around 18 months and I am very pround and protective of all be it the modest bank roll I have built up. I have spent hours and will continue to spend hours watching and taking in the great resources and training material available to us all through PokerStars and watching the pros on PokerStars tv and Utube etc...

I don't have hours each day to play, so I am happy to have found what I feel is a good value tourney which is run daily during the week starting at 9.30pm Adelaide time, being the $1 Turbo 6max 2.5k GTD. This is a tourney I am determined to win and one that will give my the confidence and bankroll to go a little harder at the cash tables...

Anyway, to my exit last night... I started well, getting a good double up early when I made my nut flush on the turn with the villian showing I think it was 58 suited... I held the A10.  Playing steady and then a huge LAG joins the table, firing chips, catching cards and building the big stack on the table... He is sitting 2 seats to my left, so I am simply just wanting to be patient and get my chips in with him in a good spot and put myself in what I feel will be a good position to run deep... The hand comes, I get KQ os on the button, play folded to me so I open with my standered 2.5x, blinds 50/100, and we are both deep, I had 70 BB, he had 100. He is in the BB, Sb folds and he 3 bets I call... Flop, Q 10 5 rainbow, he leads out I call his bet... I know he is going to keep betting so I want to get it all in on the turn... Turn comes 4, I figure I have him crushed, he bets, I 3 bet he's all in I call... I show my KQ and he shows Q6 - Yes, plan has come together.... However he rivers the 6 - drawing to what I figure is 3 outs!!!!! tourney over.... This is probably the first time I actually sat there dumbfounded, at no time during the hand did I even contemplate I was going to loose; and upon review, I don't think I would have done anything different...

So with my early exit I sought solace in Joes 2005 WSOP Main event final table effort - an incredible run and a great Aussie Story... Surely with patience and controlled agression there is some sugar there for me... Well, maybe today the sugar will come!!!

See you at the tables...
