I will begin my first official blog (I've posting my comments, views experiences in our local online poker forum Pokermanila.com for almost 4 years now) by introducing myself to whoever would bother to read this.
I am Ian Brion, a former journalist/sportswriter, who was introduce to the game of poker (NLHE) some time in 2009 when inaugural staging of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour was held here in Manila.
It was love at first sight that since then poker has become part of my daily routine up to the point that I quit my job to become what they call a professional poker player.
Now I'm making a living mostly by playing online (at an average of 12 hours a day) almost exclusively here in Pokerstars (I've tried a couple of other sites but I didn't feel comfortable). With my limited bankroll, I'm currently playing $1.50 to $4.50 buy-in Multi-table SNGs (90 players up) and regular MTTs (I prefer non-turbos) with buy-ins ranging from $0.10 to $11. Sometimes, if I'm in the black, I play $22 buy-ins and satellites to some Sunday Majors like Sunday Million.
I have not yet won a major tourney but I'm optimistic it will happen soon (hopefully this Sunday with the Sunday Mil $6M gtd). To describe it, my entire online poker career, so far, is a (expletive) grind!!!!
I'm also playing some live tourneys here in the Philippines and I'm one of the moderators of PokerManila.com, the no.1 online poker forum in Asia.
After this, expect me to write my views, experiences and other poker stuff as I continue to live the life of a poker pro.
Indeed, I'm All In with Poker :)
