why do i (still) play poker

By: kaasbollen @ 21:49 (EDT) / 68 / Comment ( 0 )

When i started playing poker a few years back i was unaware of the beauty of poker, both online and live

So what I did was register an account on an undisclosed website, a few days playing with play money and when I found out that a rebuy meant that you could get unlimited free new chips without having to do anything, i lost my interest in online poker.

Weeks, and many more live poker nights later i deposited $100 and started playing on NL $0,01/$0,02 tables
, had some fun but noticed that not everyone was serious about their hands and thought "hey, why shouldn't i try to steal those blinds" (remember... $0,03).
That was when I decided to go to the higher stake tables and there i lost about $95 in the next few days.

Yes i know, i was a inexperianced player and should not have quit that fast, but i did.
I stoped playing poker online, i stoped playing poker at the casino, just ocasionaly with friends and no to little stakes

Last month (july 2012) i was bored at work and did not have any movies to watch (i work in night shift and the job does not require me to be activly doing anything, or even be awake) so i figured lets download that nice old poker client again. with a lot of troubles i was able to register at the undisclosed website i mentioned earlyer that lasted about a week.
bonus codes ware canceled, i was ignored by support and both the SNG and cash games ware flooded by verry irritating bully's.

so i was glad to discover pokerstars where i am verry happy with the opponents, freerolls, and ofcourse the introduction to this great website where i learned a lot about poker.

in the beginning cash games ware a little bit expensive for me, and i will not make the mistake again (jumping to high stakes tables to win back my los) so i did some freeroll's, some multi table SNG 's and then i discovered the Fifty50 games, the best invention ever!

to wrap this post up, and conclude why i still play poker:

- playing at a website you like i verry important, i prefer pokerstars.
-
a little guidance is a requirement for step-by-step learning of poker.
- i found a type of game i like, shootout and Fifty50 games are great
- doubled my bankroll in the last 48 hours and i am almost back to the amount on wich i once started
