Time Vault Challenge #4 (discipline)

By: marjoryaaa @ 15:18 (EST) / 290 / Comment ( 0 )

When I'm waxing lyrical to any body who will listen about the kids (i often say that discipline makes a big difference to mines and the missuses sanity) That is too say we don't beat them with a big stick for indiscretions or have a sliding scale of punishments that fit there indiscretions. But for example they come in from shcool, homework gets done before games and toys, they sit at the table to eat their meals, no tv before school etc.

The kids know where they are in the day and once the've escaped the tentacles of education they can play with their gadgets, watch tv etc. So back to poker and discipline at the tables (where has mine gone)?

So for a few sessions i tried to play only premium hands and aim to break even. This works well for a while then greed takes over. Results versus Skill!

Instead of viewing the whole thing as a training exercise it begins the big battle and like the child kicking out at the unfairness of life I'm chastised by the poker gods and blow my stack(s)!

Discipline: play premium hands only

play for half hour only then have at least 15 min break with evaluation of hands

reinforce to self we are learning what works

                      its not a sprint
