A new Era of Kiwi Poker..

My first ever attempt at a blog....Please be kind :D

Well...I entered for the first time into the Premiere Skill League Qualifier Freeroll....

And I have to say...I am mortified by the string of bad beats I have been victim of as of late...

For example.....The Qualifier :

Only yesterday I had aced the quizez, and was introduced to the starting hands chart, Now, I am not so naive to believe that that chart is gospel, or that poker ever goes 100% to plan, especially online. But we can, Im sure, safely agree that it is a pretty accurate and clever guide to how you could approach whatever hand, from whatever position, right? Right...

This was hand #3 I believe...

UTG limped in...

UTG+1 and UTG+2 both had folded.....

And there I was in Mid/Late Position with an unraised pot, and dealt 77.

I decided that if I was going to play in the OPS PLQ'er, I would try my new persona, and see how the rest of the table would play in comparison to myself. ... I went ahead and raised 3-4BB, to account for the SB, the BB and the UTG limper.  The SB and BB called it was Four to the flop...

And then the flop hit: 7h Kh 4s... And Instantly I thought I had found the secret for my soon to be success... that whatever Method/Strategy/Mathematics was behind this chart, It could  prove to be a turning point amidst my terrible run of killer bad beats........

And then I remembered I am playing online against not only some of the Fishiest/Donkiest river hunters that the Poker Gods had ever created... But I am sure also an online computer system,  that has got a serious problem with ME! PERSONALLY!!

So, as he was first to act and obviously already concocting an evil scheme, UTG bet 90% of the pot...around 350....

Now as the courses and quizez were still relatively fresh from the days learning, I raised UTG to 800 or so..... and he calls.

The Flop: 7h Kh 4s     Turn Card: 8h                 -7h-Kh-4s-8h-

Now to his credit.. he didnt insta shove then and there, he umm'd and arr'd for about 3 seconds, and then shipped it...

I was not for 1 second thrown by that 3rd heart on the board, and the only other obvious draw was a Fish hand of 56... I was confident that the re-raise I made on the UTG's flop bet, had made it too expensive to call and chase a straight draw....

Now, I will be the first to admit that I had an incorrect read on this guy, it was only hand 3 or 4 remember!  But I put him on KJ..KQ...maybe AK at the very best (Ah)...so I made a very calm and content decision to call him.  I knew that the chances of 1 player having a pocket pair greater than mine was only 3.4%  (and only 10% chance if we include the SB and BB)

                     Me: 7c-7d                         --SHOWDOWN--                 Him: 10c-10h

.......remembering guys that there's 3 hearts on the board already.....

...........and the fact that I have been running so bad as of late....

............I suddenly lost the will to live....

I had gone from content, and proud of the new style I had demonstrated, and gullibly believed would work out for the best..........

..........To about ready to hurl my laptop out the window , so fed up with bad beats and having my short lived happiness ripped out from underneath me....

And that was the end of my OPS PLQ'er debut....

OK so Maybe I went a bit over board with the whole "Fishness/Donkness call.... and for that Im sorry.....But when's Pokerstars going to give me an apology lol

Thats it..I've had my whine and moan...I'll Be back on the tables..Im a sucker for punishment...

GL on the tables guys, and  pavel060370 , NO DOUBT WE WILL MEET AGAIN ON THE FELT LOL
