First impressions from a new poker player

Weak play

I've become incredibley discouraged with a constant streak of weak play on my part, I find myself ignoring the sensible choices of play and taking risks I shouldn't be.  Knowingly.  When I play properly, I usually end up getting relatively far, sometimes very close to the bubble.  In particularly one of my latest matches, where I finished 124th, 7 spots from the bubble.  A lot of that was due to a disconnect forcing me to fold a hand I had in play, losing half my stack, which was a shame, but I just glad to have gotten that far.

I don't seem to handle tilt very well, I seem to make incredibley rash decisions and when I try to counter my tilt by playing tight, I play way too tight and never progress with chips and end up failing with the hands I know to be strong, out of either passive betting due to lack of stack, or perhaps in some instances a little bad luck.

Are there are any reccomendations on how to handle tilt in general?  I've been fairly active in the PSO Skill league, trying to play all the matches I have time for, for pure practise, maybe I should sit some out when I'm feeling discouraged and wait until that phases over, rather than letting the feeling carry over into the next game.

But, because I've really only started playing the game of poker In January, never having playing competatively before, and barely even knew the rules to the game, let alone strategy I want to get as much exposure as possible to learn.   :

Though, in the mean time I will probably just evaluate my hands and see where I can improve, and do further reading.  I plan to play a lot better, and maybe slower in March, for a much better rating.
