donked out in 1039th

Today, I finished in 292nd out of 5599 runners in the Silverstar 100 FPP tourney.  This is my best result in that tourney so far.  ITM starts at 990th place.

990th     $9.00
432nd    $12.00
387th     $15.00
342nd    $18.00
306th    $21.00
270th    $24.00
234th    $27.00
198th    $30.00
171st    $33.00
etc

I had a short stack less than 10bbs before the money, and through learning how to slow down my play in the PSO, I did the same here.  Of course, I played looser in this tourney, shoving ATs from MP, after I made ITM.  But I folded my way until I got JJ utg.  I had about 5bbs, and shoved.  I was called by AA and was totally dominated and busted out in 292nd.

If I had folded JJ (a bad decision), then I probably would have ended up with $27.00, instead of $21.00, continuining the clock grinding strategy learned in PSO.

But if I win a race, or everyone folds and I pick up the blinds, then I'm looking at a possibility of getting $33.00+.

The SilverStar tourney is a good tourney to play, because there is always significant overlay.  The entry fee is 100 FPP, which translates to be worth $1.60 (or less than that, at my current level of play).  But the prizepool is $30k.

$30,000 divided by 5599 runners is $5.36 per runner, which is basically freerolling $3.76 per runner.

With a tight strategy, this is a very good tourney for all PSOers to be playing.
