Poker online education x book reviews

By: mr mendes 20 @ 19:39 (EST) / 854 / Comment ( 2 )

I have been playing poker for a few years now and the luck x statistics factor is always an issue. One of these days during a live training here I played a very, very, bad hand during training which made me think about many situations in microstakes and freerolls too: no matter how much you study, how much you learn, they'll always be a fish who pushes pf 68o on you, holding AA, and occasionally makes two pair, defying ther laws of statistics, physics, gravity and so on.

But in the long run, as I am told, patience and study prevails. As I took the hours of poker I have in the month of february not for serious playing but only for studying, attending workshops, reading. I finished so far the online courses on PSO:

Studying the SNG series from Spacegravy and the BR management of Frosty again are on the to do list. Prior to this month of february, in the last couple of months, I have been doing some studying and reading on the following books: (haven't finished all of them yet)

The question is, how much of the good old knowledge stated by those poker champions still apply to today's online NL Hold'em games. Many of the concepts stated there are for sure universal, specially those related to math. I'll be finishing the series on how I busted my bankroll a few weeks ago to start a new series on book reviews: what are the main concepts, what I find very useful in those books.
