The wonderful month of March: 30 to 300

By: mr mendes 20 @ 01:32 (EDT) / 64 / Comment ( 3 )

Here in the north of Europe we are supposed to be at spring already but the winter decided to overstay his welcome, like the talkative old neighbour lady when she drops by to ask for a cup of sugar or some tool and ends up telling how her whole day at the market was. It's cold. I don't know how many degrees, enough to make your shoulders hurt from shrugging with cold. I don't have much to complain though, as long as there is coffee, a warm couch, movies, staying inside is fine. And poker of course.

I played many, many tournaments this month, more than I should have, sometimes playing for 12 hours a day, or longer. The quality of the tournaments was fantastic as well: battling huge fields at the Micromillions, scoring some tournament tickets at the WBCOOP, final table at the the Big Bang, the daily microstakes tournaments running as usual, mostly min cashing. I am not going to enumerate how many times I busted by shoving AA, QQ or KK against the loose big stack who calls with whatever drunken cards such as Axs, QT or worse and end up cracking my nice holdings by sucking out with trips and what not. Just as often maybe I did the same, cracking the aces of the villians by calling with ATs, making the nut flush draw, donking, getting reraised, hitting the turn, pushing all in, getting called, villian leaves cursing the poker gods.

I am trying to learn to keep my head cool as the wind outside when making a bad beat, hey, that's life. This month has been very good to me with a third place in the Big Bang for a nice 500 prize, 100 of which I cashed out to buy Poker tracker 4. I am not going too much in details here as I am still learning it's functionality but I can tell you this: it's worth every penny you pay for it.

I spend many hours studying, trying to find my main grind, figuring out what works better for me. found some nice video's in my mother language Portuguese of Brasil by poker pro André Akkari and I am studying them as well. I am not happy with my play after I have a little bigger bankroll. I still need to study a lot, specialize, concentrate, focus, play less hours. Let's hope untill December I get a steady, nice winning curve in my graphs. Here is March:
