Rough month to say the least

By: mute07 @ 09:40 (EDT) / 268 / Comment ( 0 )

I began the month playing regularly 5NL, building a bankroll to take my first shot at 10NL until the horror happened. I was getting bad sessions one after another; you come to a point when you start wondering (again) if poker is for you. But to be honest after I cooled down I realized how many mistakes I’ve been making in almost all of those sessions. Jared Tendler (The Mental Game of Poker 1 and 2) made an AMA on reddit and I took the opportunity to ask for advice on how to overcome these bad sessions. It’s amazing how he tells you something which seems so simple and yet very right. I was feeling like I could beat this level without putting the work, I stopped studying at all just because I felt I didn’t need more until 10NL and that was my biggest mistake.

I had to move back to 2NL for the last 3 sessions of the month (which was something I didn’t want to because it felt like a step backwards) but it was necessary to build both my confidence and bankroll to be back at 5NL.

I’m just hoping to do some damage control  here due to the fact that I don’t have enough time to play and try to win back all of the money I lost. Still I have a different mindset now so I can approach this next month much more prepared and, who know, maybe the results will come sooner than later.
On other news I going to get a new monitor, a little bigger for both poker and videogames purpose; hoping to get it in a month or so.

I’m currently playing another card game called Hearthstone, it’s pretty entertaining with different strategies to learn and apply just like any card game. Basically I’m spending all of my time with card games

Hope everyone had a better month than me; until next time see ya around and gl on the tables!
