Another Month Starting over

By: phbhakta @ 22:20 (EST) / 224 / Comment ( 1 )
Glad last month (January) is over, although I was tempted to play the last day.  But since I was a whitestar for the month, I knew I had achieved as much as I could for $5.  Had I been active, I was going to go full force to get in the top 10.  This is a new month however and it has started off good.

The cash/points cutoff has increased or should I say decreased with additional entrants.  Whats up with that?

Oh well, this month I'm in the active category so lets hope I make some real good money this time.

TIPS for the serious PSO player (if they dont' know these already)

...and continued from last time.
Make sure when denoting the Color Codes on the Notes that you don't change the designation over time, because once you start color coding your opponents it will be a nightname if you change your color scheme.

Color Note the players as soon as you are seated or moved and when another joins the table.  Even if they already have an existing color note from earlier, recheck it.  Their rankings will go up and down as the month progresses and so will their habits.  They will adjust their play accordingly so start doing your homework and denote their rankings when you get seated.  Don't worry about any other tables coding other players, only worry about your own table.

Here are my notes the way I have them labeled and use them:
Blue - TOP 100
Green - 101-1000
Cyan - 1001-2000
Yellow - 2001-3000
Orange - 3001-9999
Red - 10000+
Purple - Not Rated
(other colors) unused.

These at least give me a slight advantage, albeit very slight, over which people are LIKELY to make a "donkulous" play.  But in the PSO skill league every little bit helps.  There are no guarantees, but its helped me more since I started using them with higher finishes than before I used them.
