Goal Is To Give Back

So as my second post on this blog, I want to deliver what my goals are.

I've been playing poker for 6+ years with varying tenacity and levels of success.  During this time I've obviously stored up a small cache of knowledge and experience.  I am by no means a professional or a great poker player, right now I'm just working on winning consistently.  That being said, I want to use this blog as a place to post my experiences, keep me level headed, and give back to the community.  I hope to pick up a few readers along the way and give people something they enjoy reading and gain some knowledge from.

Today I've been playing MTT's all day, with very little success thusfar.  But thats the way big tournaments go.  I'll lose a bunch, usually to bad beats or stupidity, then suddenly cash for over 100x what I put in. Gotta have the bankroll to maintain this, or what I've been doing recently is playing weak limit games to win my buyins.

Right now something I've been thinking about is a tendancy I have to make continuation bets too often.  Agression is good, I learned.  But I have been burned many times by firing bullet after bullet into a pot only to have my opponent turn over a monster.  Sometimes, you just gotta read the writing on the wall!  He's repping the nuts, he's got it.  There are many different strategies to continuation betting you'll hear.  Using a watch and betting in a 15 second window, betting on even or odd hand numbers, etc.  It really comes down to your own style and being able to sniff out a big hand when you're up against one.

This post seems a little long for not saying much, let me know what you all think!
