January 2013

By: powerdegre @ 10:51 (EST) / 315 / Comment ( 0 )

January ended in a very rough way, but overall I must admit I'm pleased, mostly because I'm still playing, some satisfaction also in having reached already NL5 and generally speaking because I'm pleased with the attitude.

January 2013 Goals
Get to the end of the month.
Play at least 6 hours a week.
Keep up this thread and start the blog.
Close positive over 10 bb/100. -ish
Do regular hands review.
Get familiar with this site's forum.

I'm definitely still playing and I feel that I've achieved each of my goal. On some days I haven't done a proper review but I don't consider that a fail, some days was just too depressing, and it has to be a pleasure, not a burden.
The win-rate is the only controversial bit, as having lost some hands I juts cant be sure about where I stand, also, the goal was set for NL2 which I have crushed with a healthy 14bb%. However it went, I'm still pleased that I have closed in the black.

BR: 110.68$ (+99.01$)
Cash: 63.51$
Tournaments: 5.50$
Bonuses: 30.00$
Cashout: 6.58$

Tournament wins are a few freerolls where I got in the money.
Bonuses are the 20$ for depositing on FT with the paired account and 10$ off the First Deposit Bonus.
Cash: can't provide a graph as upgrading to Win8 my database lost a bunch of hands I played originally on Tilt.

Focus and Studies
This month I've kept myself strictly to the basics, and I mean it literally, as all I've read (multiple times) was the Poker Basics chapter on this site and a side of psychology papers that I have printed out.

Having just returned to the game I am focusing strictly on the ABC, not only is profitable at the micros, but at the moment my major leaks are the occasional chips-spew of not folding a hand or bad-beat induced tilt, with a side of having got slow into calculating out and odds, so before I move on I need to shape up on these topics.

Gloating Corner
No review, just pure biggest pot of the month gloating.
