Week One: The Summary

By: psychojoe111 @ 15:48 (EDT) / 156 / Comment ( 1 )

It's now been almost exactly one week since I came across the PSO, and began to learn from the pros.

Before the summary, I can add a few more freeroll cashes to my fledgling CV. Two consecutive cashes in the 888poker Bonus $75 freerolls, both finishing in 120th place from fields of 1,851 and 1,866 respectively. Busted the first one with A7s versus 25off, he hit trip 5's. In the second one, I shoved with pocket 5s, one caller who had AK, and the river brought an Ace.

Also, after a bit of a drought, another 'in the money' finish in the Open Skill League, busting in 1,194th from a field of 10,000. I was short stacked, picked up 75s and shoved, slightly silly move, I was called by pocket 9s which held.

So, in my first week here at the PSO, my stats read 13 cashes in freeroll tournaments, including one final table appearance. I don't know how this comapres to anyone else, but I'm personally happy with my progress.

The next step for me is to start grinding a bankroll with my freeroll winnings. Also, some other goals I have set myself are:

- Try and qualify for a Big Bang Freeroll by finishing in the top 400 in Open Skill League events

- Reach a final table in an Open Skill League tournament

- Start playing low stake MTTs and hopefully cash in them

- (The big goal) Win a freeroll tournament.

Good luck at the tables guys!
