PLO25+ continued

By: pteridophyta @ 14:20 (EDT) / 330 / Comment ( 0 )

Hey guys,

I was X-\\IuI//-X whose blog was titled PLO25+. I actually had 2 accounts and have since learned that is against the terms of service. I notified Stars and they were excellent. They closed my new account and I still have this one. They also transferred all my VPP's/FPP's and I maintained my VIP status.

Honesty is the best policy people.

So continuing on from where I left off. I was running pretty bad, nothing has changed and I have quit for the month. I reached platinum VIP status though so good times.

Here is my graph for the month:

What a beauty.

I took today off and studied all day.

Currently plugging equity match ups from PLO Quick Stats into Anki (flash card software) and I plan to learn these perfectly. Then do the same with range match ups to help with assigning my own stack off ranges in low SPR situations post-flop while playing. Still not great at this.

I am also taking up Viktor Luis (friend on another forum) on his offer of free coaching and must send him HH's by the end of today so that I can capitalize on a fresh perspective.

I am also doing some interesting work on flop calling vs check raises with hands that have a lot of back door equity. I think being able to play more streets with the positional advantage vs aggressive V's is very important. Not so much vs the average player at PLO25 but it will be helpful none the less.

e.g.

On a board of:

Kh4s7d

KhQhJd9d has ~ 38.5% equity vs a range of:

865$ds, KK, 77RR, 44RR, K7, K4, Ax4x4, Ax7x7

If we add in decent Kx with good BD equity and 74 as well we move to just over 40%.

So vs decent aggressive opponents folding this hand to a check raise is a pretty big mistake. Assuming V fires 100% on the turn (a valid assumption) this is our equity breakdown by on the Turn:

We have at least 30% equity on the turn 61% of the time and when we take implied odds into consideration we need even less than that to call.

Rivers should play out fairly easily so yeah....just food for thought.

Catch ya later,

Jas
