Whats a Background Have to do with your Play?

For most people the answer is easy.  They will say it has nothing to do with their game.

Is it truly nothing though?

Flash-back to grade 9::::::

In the first semester of high school I went to a school where all the lockers were painted beige, brown, white and it created a relaxed atmosphere, almost boring.  The halls were never overly loud and noone was ever really hyped up unless there was something going on at school. Say like, track and field or something.  The gray gives you that relaxed, bored, gloomy feeling.

Enter the second semester

I switched schools after the second semester and started going to a new high school. Its funny because my brothers and all their friends went there  about 15 years before me. Anyway, the school had not changed much since their day.

The first thing I noticed was the energy level of all the students before I even entered the school and it made me a bit more excited to go there already.  I walked in and all of a sudden, If I had RED BULL back then, I probably would have just started runnning down the halls.  It was like the halls were full of energy, people were loud, hyper and the reason for it.....

The lockers......All the lockers were bright colors, bright reds, bright yellows, bright greens, bright blues, bright purples.  When the sun came in through the high windows and hit those lockers it was like you were standing in a rainbow.  The students energy levels were a lot higher and people were a lot more hyper than at my previous school that had about the same amount of students.

You may find it hard to believe but it was proven the next year when they painted all the lockers to a bland beige, off white and brown pattern like my old school.  When we walked in that first day of school, you could almost feel the depression. It felt more like a grey rainy day once you walked in than a nice bright day as it was outside. The remainder of my time there was never the same as it was that first semester I walked in there.

SO, WHATS this have to do with the back ground you choose at your table?

Maybe nothing at all or maybe it could change your play style without you even realizing it.
