playing good but can get better

i have been playing ok this month and have improved considering this is only the second month that i played. i have made some domb moves but have also played solid alot more often thanks to this league. I played almost all the tourneys on sunday and had a few deep runs up to the top hundred in a few of the tournaments. This league has taught me not to put my whole stack at jeopardy as often as i use to. Each time that i have put my stack in i have gone in with the best hand. each time that i have gotten beat someone had to hit a two outer to win. I got knocked out today when a gentlemen had pocket aces and i had QJ suited. My stack was 6000+. his stack was about 3000. blinds are 100/200. he raises to eight hundred. i just call. I know that it is a loose call but with my stack if i hit hard i can get the rest of his stack. if not easy fold  and the eight hundred compared to stack size not that much. flop comes out Q 5 J rainbow. He raises up another eight. i put him all in. He calls. You can guess what happens next. He hits his Ace on the turn and i am short stacked and pretty much out. If anyone reads this i would appreciate some input on if i could have played it better or if i played it wrong. thanks to the league for everything.
