Mercier Wins Fourth WSOP Bracelet

By: royalraise85 @ 09:39 (EDT) / 636 / Comment ( 1 )

Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier recently won the WSOP $10,000 2-7 Draw Lowball Championship for $273,335. He defeated a high-calibre field of 100 players including, at the final table, Mike Watson from Canada, Lamar Wilkinson from California, David Grey from Nevada, and Benny Glaser & Stephen Chidwick, both from the United Kingdom.

It is Mercier’s fourth World Series bracelet – his first in 2-7 Draw Lowball – after a No-Limit Hold’em win in 2015 and Pot-Limit Omaha victories in 2009 and 2011. He now has 48 cashes in WSOP events, of which 16 have been final tables. It takes his lifetime live tournament winnings to $16.7 million, with over $3.8 million coming in WSOP events.

Runner-up Mike Watson from Canada has clashed – and been defeated by – Mercier at the final table of high stakes poker tournaments in the past.  When Jason Mercier won the 2008 EPT London High Roller Showdown for £516,000 ($905,141), Watson came third. On this occasion, Watson managed to finish in second place, the third time he has finished as a runner-up in a WSOP bracelet event.

Further information on the event is available on the PokerStars Blog here:
