POKERSTARS CARIBBEAN ADVENTURE

By: royalraise85 @ 07:16 (EST) / 711 / Comment ( 2 )

More than 400 players have already registered for the 2015 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) which kicks off today. This year’s PCA festival features a total of 35 events at Atlantis, running from January 6-14.

The schedule includes the first ever $3k LAPT Bahamas Main Event, the flagship $10k Main Event, the $25k High Roller, the $1k Ladies Event and the Americas Cup, plus the introduction of the new concept Double Bubble, where half the field gets paid, nightly turbo tournaments and a ton of Sit and Go and cash game action.

“PCA 2015 introduces the novelty of the Double Bubble format in some side events, as well as the joint effort of LAPT season 8 with PCA, and the shooting of Shark Cage season 2. All this together provides for an exciting kick-off of the 2015 poker season and another opportunity to celebrate poker at its highest standards in a dream location. I can’t believe it is going to be the 12th edition of the PCA; all of us are looking forward to it!” said David Carrion, PCA Director.

More than 330 players have qualified for this year's PCA Main event, many for just a handful of dollars invested in online satellites. As well as cash prizes, the winners of the 2015 Main Event, High Roller and Super High Roller will also receive luxury watches from Swiss watch brand SLYDE, the official watch sponsor for the 2015 PCA.

STAR-STUDDED FIELD
Several celebrities are expected to compete in this year’s PCA Main Event including top golfer Sergio Garcia, UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz, who won his seat in a PokerStars-sponsored charity tournament for Lupus LA, Friend of PokerStars and Seinfeld star Jason Alexander and Team PokerStars SportStar and Brazilian football legend Ronaldo Nazario.

In last season's PCA Main Event, Poland's Dominik Panka beat Canadian EPT Dortmund champion Mike McDonald heads-up for the $1,423,096 first prize. There were 1,031 players last year, which generated a prize pool in excess of $10 million.

The $100k Super High Roller starts January 6 with live webcast coverage every day. The event will attract the world’s best players including Team PokerStars Pros Daniel Negreanu, Vanessa Selbst and Jason Mercier, Team PokerStars Pro Online’s Ike Haxton plus poker playing businessmen such as Bill Perkins, Paul Newey (runner-up in the EPT Prague Super High Roller) and Dan Shak.

NON-STOP ACTION
There are many other exciting activities taking place during this year's PCA. The "HU4ROLLZ" contest will pit players against Team Online members in heads-up matches, running Jan 8-9 in the Players Lounge.

This year's PCA also sees a debut for Team Pro VIP Matches on January 8 & 9. Up to 90 PCA players will have the chance to battle members of Team PokerStars Pro, with buy-ins ranging from 5,000 FPPs to 15,000 FPPs. As well as prize pools up to $2,400, there will also be bounties for busting Team Pros & special “PCA themed” prizes.

PokerStars will host the very first PCA tailgate party for NFL play-off fans with several screens around the venue showing matches and a tailgate party outside featuring free food, soft drinks and beer pong action on the Imperial Terrace on January 11.

The well renowned and highly anticipated official PCA party takes place Tuesday, January 13 on the Atlantis Royal Deck.

SHARK CAGE
The PokerStars Shark Cage TV show returns for a second season with the first three heats taking place in the Bahamas.  Each heat features one qualifier and five invited celebrities and poker players all competing for a place in the $1 million winner-takes-all final in Monaco.

The line-up includes Tito Ortiz, Ronaldo and Sergio Garcia who all make their Shark Cage debut. Former Miss Finland Sara Chafak who shot to international poker fame inseason one after her stunning bluff against Ronnie Bardah returns.
