How to relax into a tournament?

By: ruiten7 @ 04:17 (EST) / 213 / Comment ( 1 )
I bust a gut trying to play good solid poker .... usually without success.
Yesterday I finnished 18th out of 1753 - 18th cos it was 00.23am where I am and I couldn't concentrate anymore so shoved in the SB with J10 and got called by the BB with AK and lost it like I should have, there is something ok about being knocked out of a tournament by a better hand or cos you've made a dumb play so I went to sleep happy and hoping that the guy that took me out (I let take me out :) ) went on to win?

.... but in an earlier tournament .... getting stuffed with KK (4th hand in tournament) and a 600 (1/2 my stack) raise called by K8 off suit (couldn't believe the call)   7 6 4 on the flop so I push all in and a J on the turn and u guessed it a 5 on the river just drives me nuts and I have to work so hard to stay nice then! going out 1028th.

Now when I look back ... maybe just maybe I should have folded KK early on in the tournament? I will try harder to judge the hands and the moment .... I'll concentrate on staying relaxed and maybe just maybe I'll make it into the top 1000 this month?
