ZOOMing into Omaha

By: scrixer @ 18:00 (EDT) / 336 / Comment ( 0 )

Up front I have to admit having much less experience at Omaha than at NLHE. That being said, my opponents are probably the same. Hopefully that means I have the edge!
Take this hand for example (sorry no Boom as I was on a mobile device):

Seat 1: scrixer ($6.11 in chips)

Seat 2: Villain_2 ($11.66 in chips)
Seat 3: Villain_3 ($6.45 in chips)
Seat 4: Villain_4 ($4.86 in chips)
Seat 5: Villain_5 ($2.67 in chips)
Seat 6: Villain_6 ($3.72 in chips)
Villain_2: posts small blind $0.02
Villain_3: posts big blind $0.05

*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to scrixer [Kc 2s Kh Jh]
Villain_4 folds; Villain_5 folds
Villain_6: raises $0.12 to $0.17
scrixer: calls $0.17
Villain_2: folds
Villain_3: calls $0.12
*** FLOP *** [3c 4h Jd]
Villain_3: checks
Villain_6: checks
scrixer: bets $0.20
Villain_3: raises $0.70 to $0.90
Villain_6: calls $0.90
scrixer: calls $0.70

So at this point, with a rainbow board, I'm thinking AJ or two pair in Villain_3s hand.

*** TURN *** [3c 4h Jd] [Ks]
Villain_3: bets $1.90
Villain_6: calls $1.90
scrixer: raises $3.14 to $5.04 and is all-in
Villain_3: folds
Villain_6: calls $0.75 and is all-in
Uncalled bet ($2.39) returned to scrixer

Villain_3 must have been calling either two pair or a lower set. At least he recognises when to get out. I've hit my set so I'm rejoicing, but I'm now thinking Villain_6 has JJ and/or a straight draw. If he has both he has 12 outs. I guess for another $0.75 it is worth calling my raise.

*** RIVER *** [3c 4h Jd Ks] [2h]
*** SHOW DOWN ***
Villain_6: shows [Qd Kd 6h Ac] (a pair of Kings)
scrixer: shows [Kc 2s Kh Jh] (three of a kind, Kings)
scrixer collected $10 from pot

Now with Replayer:

It was top pair/kicker and straight draw (4 outs!). This is the kind of hand he should've folded after the bets on the flop!
So for me, if I get more play like this, then I'm happy to spend more time ZOOMing into Omaha!
