The zzzzzzzzzzzz's of Poker

/Feb/2011

A first for me

I had no idea what I was in for Thursday night as I sat down to play poker before a long weekend of moving and working.  Late in the evening I entered a $1.10 Razz MTT.  For those who aren't familiar with Razz, it's a variation of Stud, where the "low" hand wins.  There were 90 runners, and the top 16 were paid.  I'm very comfortable playing the different Stud games, and after a couple of hourse was in the money.  But it didn't stopped there.  I wound up taking 4th place, good for $8.32.  I had my sights set on 1st, and in fact was the chip leader for a while, but when we got to the final table the chip leader had an enormous chip advantage over the rest of us, and I was never quite able to catch him.

This was the first time I've made a final table of an MTT.  I've made a few PSO final tables and many final tables in sit n go's, but never in an MTT.  I felt quite proud of this accomplisment, and hope to improve on this and take down and MTT in the future.
