Pot Limit Omaha Micro Stakes

By: staticaldave @ 12:04 (EST) / 71 / Comment ( 0 )

Just watched Joe Hatchem video on Pot Limit Omaha. I am not a big Omaha fan whether it be P/L, F/L or N/L but after listening and watching Joe go through the basic stages of hands while emphasizing hand styles pre-flop and position importance; I am beginning to see a game that interests me a little further. Being that the game is played with the basic rules of Hold'em, I have to say that I will be exploring this game further. Joes ability to explain hand structure for starting hands has allowed me to rethink the possibilities that Omaha has to offer. He also does a good job reminding when and were to make bets and what positions they should and should really be thought through before proceeding.

As explained in his opening hand, Joe gets dealt a pocket consisting of JJ24o's while out of position. Joe goes on to explain that if he had had a hand like JJ109 or JJQ9 suited or double suited; you could at that point potentially play the hand even out of position but, proceeding with caution. As Joe folded this hand and the flop came it was clear to me that his decision to fold was a good choice. Not that that would be rocket science but rather, reminding us that foolish play oout of position could cost you more than you really want to bargain for.

With this in mind and having a good foundation and understanding of Hold'em already. Thanks Joe as I know I will excel in this game...
