Spectator for a While !

By: thehorse7 @ 15:51 (EDT) / 219 / Comment ( 0 )

I have taken time off from tables to improve my gameplay by learning the game more deeper. And the learning process includes studying few books I have bought, artciles of prominent players and evaluating my own hand history. But more importantly, I have learnt a very effective way to learn the game i.e. to be a spectator of this great game. I have been watching several tables in last week and I must say if you are a keen observer you'll learn several new things and insights by viewing the game from a hawk eye instead of sitting on the table looking at your hole cards only.

Being a spectator and observer helps you explore mistakes you do on the table but you need to closely watch the game at every step and keep on thinking what card players are holding or what their moves mean, have they made top pair, top pair with weak kicker, have they got set on turn with re-raise or its a bluff, are three barrelling bluff and should opponent call or fold. You should put yourself in the shoes of players and think what you would be doing while confronting similar situation. Trust me, its great learning experience. However, I do agree, it takes time as we do not see show downs as often, but on the other hand, you can also keep making notes of the players you observe on tables being a spectator.

Wish you all enormous learning and luck ahead
