Pocket Pairs, What A Joke

By: usmc0481 @ 16:58 (EST) / 335 / Comment ( 1 )
So, even after figuring out now how to get past the idiot poker players, there is the issue with pocket pairs.  Does anyone go by that percentage sheet when it comes to pocket pairs?  I have changed my style of play for a day and half now bc I was trying out using those percentages but it just really wasnt for me.

For those I have come across on tables and those who have commented on my blog, ty for the advice.  It actually has given me a shred of hope that I am not a bad player just been getting unlucky.  I tried out not playing so many hands even tho I already dont play many hands already lol.  Yesterday I did very well in several of the PSO tournaments.  Probably my best day yet, although there are many more to come bc I just started this whole thing.

I am now restricting myself from going all in on anyhand no matter what I have pre flop if some donkey pushes all in bc i can not seem to win even when i have AA, KK, or AK.  So that is a no go anymore lol.  Only towards the later portions of the tournament I will do that.  I am also now not playing any hands pre flop that I can not see the flop for just the blind amount or a small raise.  With both of these things combined I actually was in the positive yesterday and trying it out again today.

My thing now is the pocket pairs tho.  It seems that every pocket pair no matter what it is, is over rated.  Even if i get to see a flop early in a tournament for 20 chips with a mid to low pocket pair and catch my trips, I can not seem to win the hand.  Is it the way I bet? No, bc I have pushed and still get some1 at the table that has the draw that always some how goes runner runner to suck out and beat me.  So my question is, should every pockeet pair lower than 10's just be tossed as long as there are 9 ppl at the table playing?  Cuase even if its not me getting the pocket pairs I have noticed that usually when 1 person at a table gets them, there is always another person that gets them as weel.  So its almost like its a set up to put some1 out.

Any imput would be nice and I greatly appreciate it.  Feel free to comment or send message.  For those who have checked me out and seen that I was doing sooo crappy take a look at what I did yesterday.  I think I might have a lil something figured out and I will keep doing it till i can figure out what it is im diong wrong in the later stages of the tournys now so that I can possibly make a final table.

Best of luck to all of you and please if you see me at a table, feel free to say hi.  Mr. Negreanu if your out there lol just wanted to say hi to you and good luck in what ever you may have comming up.  It will be my pleasure some day to get to sit at a table with you and play a hand or two.
