It's not illegal for Americans to play poker, even for real money. It's the transaction (bank to site) that is proving to be the legal point in question.  I hope that PokerStars would reconsider allowing US citizens to play the table games, including the PSO and other tournament games.  The pendulum has swung a little far to the right and I hope that some consideration would be made to correct this.
