Maybe you could use it for a satellite into the poker classic. Win that and you could become a tv star in the main event

I don't know how much it costs to enter the sats though, so maybe it wouldn't count. One sat is held at the end of this month at the Irish open. 200 euro with rebuys.

You could also look on www.ukpoker.com and www.pokerineurope.com for listings of the big UK 'big 10' tournaments, usually as part of some festival, and when they are held. There is a 1000 euro buy-in no limit holdem in Ireland later this month. There is a £500 buy-in no-limit holdem at the end of November in England, though both teh above events are rebuy tournaments so probably too expensive. There is a pot limit freezout though, mid November in Scotland. £500 to enter, max of 100 players. Plenty of £100 an d£250 tournaments also. Have a look at those sights for a listing. Th european site should have the big European tournaments listed also.

The best one to enter would probbaly be the quarter million no-limit freezout tournament but that costs a few thousand to enter.

pokermats

check out the schedule for the 'Midlands Masters' in Walsall (UK) at the end of November. There are loads of events that you could use your 500 points in and even single table satellites to the Quarter Million if you are allowed to use them for it. I'll be there but it doesn't look like I'll have any points to put towards my buy-ins

Way back I asked Mark what the 'major event' referred to in the Sponsorship system, but I don't think there was a reply. Apologies if I missed the answer.

It's obviously a big issue for Mats, so maybe Mark could give it some consideration? A $500 sponsorship could be a bit of a pain if it involves travelling half way across the world to use it....

Also, Mats, check out
http://www.european-poker.com/frontpage/index.php
for a link to a diary of events, and g00t luck !

Another big event coming up is the Master Classics in Amsterdam, there is a 200 euro NLHE event with rebuys on Nov 5th and also other events that might suit your bankroll. I'm also hoping that there will be some satellites there for the main event. There is also the added bonus of it being in Amsterdam so if you don't win at the poker there are plenty of other ways to cheer yourself up.

Thanks for the info Ironside, that is a real disadvantage to all European players though as there are hardly any no-rebuy tourneys in Europe under £2500!

Did not realise that points could only be used for freezeouts, that does make things very difficult for us european players.

Perhaps because of the different structures of events in Europe maybe this should be looked at by PSO.

I am sure that the amsterdam tourney does class as a MAJOR event as most of europes best players look as though they are going.

I may fly out there myself and play 'JUST FOR THE CRACK', pokermats if you want full details then the site is

Good Luck

when mark was asked about this in may his answers were along the lines of

PSO has to wire money to the casino in question and it is not worth there time to do so for under 500$ (thats both the casino and PSO time)

PSO need to know before hand how much it will cost hence they cant wire 500$ then find out you dont need the whole 500$.

PSO are offering it as a FULL sponsorship therefore they dont want players adding to the money.

these aren't his exact words i am too lazy to search thru forum but i think the sentiments are right.

so basically its need to be a freezout tourny for 500$ or more

hope this helps

its only the middle of the month
a player could join the school tomorrow and play 20 games finish in the money each one and kick life into the leagues

its WAY to early to start saying someone will win or come 2nd in any league

there are 30/31 days in most months not 16 or 17

please post on the 1st of next month congratluting pspitalnic on a great month if he does win the league.

below are a few questions if anyone can help mm with oner or all of them please do

i am wondering about the whole dollar pond thing 8O
if i have 500 sponsorship points can i use it for a $500 or a £500 or do i have to convert dollars into pounds for example if a comp was £1000 would i have to get 1600 points ( £1000 = $1600 )

and what about the + 8O
for example if it was a £500 + £25 do i have to get 525 points to enter, presuming that 525 points = £525 :?

if there is a £1000 re buy comp can i still use my points for an entry in to that or does it HAVE to be a no re buy comp :?:

and finally :!:
if there was a £500 + £25 rebuy comp and i had 1025 points could i say i will enter the comp and have a re buy / top up with the rest

one more question
this one is about rankings is it true they will be reset at the end of the year

thats about all for now thank you

as far as i am aware points are $s you then convert dollars to pounds
so you can for 500 points buy in for a £350 tourny
you need to cover the whole buy in and re buys are not allowed as the fee is paid in advance and refunds are not acceptable

in may mark post that as of jan the first all rankings will be cleared due to the room they are taking up

so as of jan the first all players can rebuld their %
