PSO CONVENTION UPDATE - Tue Oct 15, 2002, 03:27 AM

I just wanted to let you all know exactly where i am with the PSO Convention -
Yesterday 14th October i spoke with Bill Hicks, to say that i would be happy to go for the tournament on the 9th January and the Seminars on the 11th January. He told me that there was a performer that was booked into the theatre on the 10th, so i said we would gladly work around that booking, but i just wanted to give all my school members the definate go ahead that we could have the dates. It is not his fault, nor mine, as every detail of this has to be run by the gaming board for approval.
He has said i will definately have an answer this week, and then we can move forward and start to plan the Convention, which i have been eager to do for months now.

I will keep you all updated and as soon as i hear anything i will let you all know.

Regards
Tina

Thanks for the info Tina, that's very useful.

I only have some small idea how difficult this has been for you but I would like to say thanks.

Also while I'm thanking people, my thanks also go to PokerGoddess for keeping the information flow going - WTG PG!!

Anyway, we're now booked into the Goldstrike from 7th through to the 13th January - woohoo! We're so looking forward to meeting y'all.

See you there!!

Could someone re-post the reservation info at Goldstrike, I can't seem to locate it. I think it was Thresa at the Pokerroom, Phone number would be helpful also.

Thanks,

Big Bo.
Call Teresa Sommerfield, poker room office, at the Horseshoe Casino, Tunica...the toll free # is 1-800-558-2387. She will book a room at the GS for you.

Also, to all those flying in....I will be checking this coming week with the Airport/Casino shuttle people and getting times and rates for you, and will post them here soon.

Also, ...I know some of you plan on staying at the GS but playing some of the daily tournaments at the Grand. TheMoron (my honey) is a dealer there and will be talking to the mgr. of the poker room this week about what they mite assist with, like having a special scheduled Grand shuttle at the GS each day at a pre-set time to transport those wanting to make those tournaments. Not sure it's possible..but we're trying. Along this same line, some have indicated they are staying at the Grand, we will mention to him the possibility of perhaps giving an additional room discount to any PSOers playing there.

My next goal is to hopefully get some sort of word from Tina that we mite get the GS to give us a small mtg room, on the 2nd floor as a "hospitality room" for PSO. Have no idea if this is even possible, but I'd sure be willing to put some pressure on them for such a thing. A place where we can all meet up and talk and congregate. I think if they realize the impact of the 50 or more "players" who will be coming as a result of PSO, they may be more agreeable to some lil extras. If this happens, I will visit the "Tunica Visitors and Information Center" (yes, there actually is one..lol) and get any broc****s or other material they may have available to have in this room for ideas for those nonpoker playing guests.

We've been promised a definate answer on dates and plans, this week, so hopefully we can move from the supposition stage to the actual planning and moving forward stage.

There is a great need, at least I feel there is, for this to come off as organized and as professional as possible to cast a good light on not only PSO, but on us, as serious poker people.

I will update as I can. And YES,,,like ShoelessJoe....I'M EXCITED!
