Quick question about seven-card rules.

In the sat tourney's here, the lowest card up on the third street (?) has to bring-in. In the home games that I've played, any seven-card game (stud, baseball, low-chicago, etc), the highest up card starts the betting.

What is the correct method for deteriming who should start the betting and can they check or are they required to bet?

Thanks. 8O

If there's a bring in (like on 3rd street in casino games), low card brings it in, and betting proceeds clockwise. Otherwise, betting starts with high hand showing.
