it's ok unlike him i was trying for last place

you know what i found out?

losing that bad is really hard with only @ 11,660 players my score of 1394 was nothing compared to last place with 1222 and that was after he got a 10+ last night
so i gave up on that donk dream it just can't be achieved without just giving your chips away 1st hand every game and still praying you lose

i'll now start to climb back up the ranks so i can gloat of what great improvment i've made to my game and once again proclaim that i am the greatest poker player since brunson

see ya at the tables and get out of my way your slowing me down

Ok, I remember seeing a list of players like this for January but I wasn't sure what it was for. Now I see my name on there and I gotta know. Is this some kind of contest Poncho? I think I remember you having some kind of tourney for last month. If there is something to aim for here please let me know what it is so I can aim for it lol.

no this is just a bragging rights post for all to see

If I do have another free tourney for this month all depends upon my BR at the moment.

My free tourneys usually are changed around from month to month, and I haven't really thought what the next one might be, other than it may be white star ( but not exclusively ) and points based. I think it would be an invititational for top rated white stars but open to all who want to pay type deal. But if i do not cash $50 this month then any tourney is unlikely, and I am not looking good this month.

My PSO strategy is having to be changed, now I can no longer get enough chips to stall and fold into the money so easily, I am wondering if I should start doing the ladder climb, like JD said is most effective. But it is hard to only play one way in PSO Skill League tournaments and the way I play all other tournaments normally. I have always tried to get enough chips to ITM then stall and fold, now it seems just consistently getting small points and reducing the negative ones is the way to go.

PSO made these changes to make the games more real world like but if this is the case then the opposite has occurred. That is is if the winning strategy is to not even min cash but collect the small points gained from not even getting to ITM. Well hopefully the the non ITM points will be slightly reduced to compensate if this turns out to be the case.

It certainly has turned into a "minimize losses" type of feel to these now. The lowering of places paid just gave the penny chasers more time to terrorize those that are trying to play smart poker while also trying to climb the leaderboard. Tricky balancing act to be sure. Let's just say that achieving 1870 in this system REALLY is an accomplishment now! I hope I make it there! Good luck to you too Poncho.

I feel that that is a non constructive or informative post, and has no relation to poker in any manner... and is in direct contradiction of the forum rules and is deserving of a warning... also the feelings mutual

Not in any way a flame on you guys. Reading your comment on playing pso one way and playing other tourneys another way made me think of JDeans comments to how he plays the PSO. He also plays the same way as he would his other mtt tourneys, because he didn't want to affect his play in other mtt's. Just food for thought, but, why? You don't play nl the same as fl hold'em. You don't play napl fr, the same as you would the sunday 1/4 million. Can't you guys just play PSO one way, and all your other tourneys another way. ( I'm usings ways, because I don't really know what your individual strategies are for each. ) I don't really understand how playing PSO to win maximum value in the league would effect your mtt play in other cash mtt's. Just my opinion. -shark

Just to keep an edge for mere mortals like me it is easier if i do not multitable especially a PSO Skill Leage game with a freeroll or a 10c game, In those games the indivusdual game just really doesntmatter much then i get distracted and make a dumb call or bet .

But to keep the finest edge it is best to keep the games you play the same, which i dont but when i am playing turbo sat i tend tyo stick with them, if i am playing $2.20 90 pl s&g then the game lets you see more hands and has a different playing strat than say 55c turbo.

it is just an edge thing and to not make stupid mistakes.

Jack of all trades master of none

Unless you are un employed or immobilized I cant figure out how anyone can play say above 70 tourneys a month if that. I really wish PSO would institute some evening games so its a fair distribution - as we have noticed ( I read it in another thread - please dont quote me on this exactly)) it isnt the number of high placings but the number of games that affects the outcome as its a matter of consistant placing. Maybe near the end of the month a play off format should be instituted on top finishes ( you have 4 finishes in the top 20 or something you get into pool A, then the next level down is Poll B etc).
just my thoughts
cheers The Hamster

I second that, thought I was doing good with my 15 tourneys this month and then I noticed the alot of the leaders have 40+ under their belt already.
I think the most I can do is 20 a month based on the current tourney times, seems to be better suited for the euro players.
