horrible play by you and aces preflop

limping with aces deserved to lose

you with trips gotta re raise/shove

2/8 had double belly buster (woulda hit a straight with the 3 or 7)

so bad play with the aces and the 5s

Ok ant first off this belongs in the Hand Analysis forum not here in general,so can a Mod plese move it and can some around here learn where these posts are supposed to go please?

As to the hand the player (horesaround6) with AA who limped the Aces deserved exactly what he got---the rail.

As to ant's play I think calling a 3x bet raise over the 2 min bets post flop a "horrible play" is a little off base. I'm not at the table,so I don't know if gingerdevil (who had the double belly buster draw) and horsearound are the type that a shove here will move off the pot or if they're the "hold on to grim death" type so hard to say. The standard answer is that a jam play by ant here would probably get ginger to come off his or her draw and get horsearound to quite possibly over-value his Aces and come along for a probable skinning. But without knowing how these 2 had been playing it up to then I'll refrain from saying something like "horrible play" here.

And to the good the raise to 300 by ant at least controls pot size if a bad card turns which gives him OPTIONS. What do you do here if you jam guitaplaya?--which seems to be what you're suggesting the proper play to be and ginger DOES come along. The 7 falls and you twiddle your thumbs on the rail waiting for the next PSO is what. If a card that does'nt fit the board like a 10 or Q or something turns you can always bet out aggressively again to try and move any draws off the pot. Something too many here just don't seem to get about shoving--once you do the poker has ENDED for that hand---now it's down to who gets lucky and who does'nt. Everytime,EVERYTIME,I jam a pot and someone ends up sucking out on me,even on a 1 or 2 outer,I need to resolve myself with the fact that yes, they may have made a terrible call, but I'M the one who put my chips at risk on a fall of the cards and left myself no outs.

So I do completely agree with the AA player getting exactly what he had coming for limping AA. But I do not agree with the observation that ant made a horrible play with the raise to 300 post flop. He told the other 2 players that they are very likely behind at that point,it gave himself a chance to get away from the hand if a bad card turns(which is exactly what happened BTW),and it gives him a chance to fire another, possibly even more aggressive shell if a card that does'nt connect turns.

I think ant played the hand solidly and limited his damage in a hand that went from good to trash in 1 card.

thanks moxie utg limp with 55 is the correct play is it not???

as for the flop i hit trips but str8 away i know that devil may well have str8 draws as he was as loose as a hos' fanjina so i put out half pot bet hoping to fire the turn if it wernt another draw card but as it turned out it was so when theres a huge raise and an all in before me i can easily fold in my spot and had chips spare to go again as for the river i dont need to assume the odds off me hitting quads so on the basis of them odds my play was correct no??

Limping with 55 UTG with your stack was just barely correct in my opinion. If you had a couple hundred less chips a fold would have been better.

I'm more interested in why gingerdevil's hand was called a strait instead of a flush?

Its the hand history that calls the hand a strait instead of the flush that gets to me. First time I've seen an error in how a hand was read by the software. I'd send the original hand history to support and see what they had to say.

I don't see anything wrong with the HH... It clearly shows a 4-8 straight with four hearts, not five. You had a rainbow flop with a second heart on the turn, followed by the solo club on the board for the river with a couple hearts in the hole does not a flush make.
