I have not been on PokerStars in several months until a few days ago. Of course, once I decided to log on, I went straight for a PSO tournament. After playing a few tournaments I have some advice for those who have been away for more than a month or two. Revisit the courses!
As it turns out, I had lost focus on the core basics of the style of poker that the PSO teaches. Most of my patience, starting hands, even basic strategy was not what it was. So I am revisiting the courses, and setting myself up as though this is my first run through with the knowledge that is available here. Out of the last three or so tournaments, I have only had one decent finish (and that was because I got lucky, really lucky). I finished 166th. My next tournament is in a little over an hour away. We will see if brushing up on the courses will pay off. I will post a response here with my finish and see. If anyone has anything to say about taking a break for a few months, and can provide some advice about coming back to the game, feel free to post a reply. Happy gaming!
