I didn't get "owned"... I am just about to cash in that tournament. I lost SOME chips to a donk which ultimately didn't matter much.

I just have one question that I have to ask....are PresBruno and the GREAT Phil Helmuth Kissing cousins? They are both SO GREAT and EVERYONE ELSE that plays poker are just a bunch of donks (that's what they both say anyway).
I'm just sayin'.

Actually, Phil is a little different, in my opinion. As one of my favorite philosophers, Kid Rock says, "It ain't braggin' m. f'er, if you back it up." Hellmuth has the bracelets to back it up...

I'm just sayin'...

Ya know, it's all about attitude. Hellmuth is a great player (Jury is out on Pres. Bruno but I think he has a better shot at winning a braclet than a US Presidential election) but he has no right to bitch about poor play. Daniel has won a lot more money than Phil and he wins more friends for the game than anybody. Phil is a spoiled brat (which he acknowledges) and to him the game is the most important thing in life. It isn't. People even fish and donkeys and beginners and pros are important and frankly he doesn't make anyone feel that way based on his televised behavior.

Even Doyle who came up the hard way riding through Texas, hasn't shown a temper though I have no doubt that in his younger days he could raise some hell. I find it hard to believe Phil gives two hoots about teaching me anything. I find it easy to believe both Doyle and Daniel (and others) want me to improve.

If Poker is about only the great players, well then they are gonna have very few opponents. If Great Poker means you have to act like an Asshole well count me out. I came here and to the game because Daniel made it seem obtainable. Phil makes me feel like an accountant in a Home Depo.

BTW even a 30+ handicap can hit a hole in one with the wrong club on the right day. Same goes for poker. In Baseball a Cy Young winner can give up a Grand Slam to a .109 BA shortstop and even a blind squirrel will find an acorn once in a while. Poker is not a game of chance, but as in life, chance plays a part of every moment. Sometimes the right feeling will let a guy kiss a girl. If he guessed right she kisses back if not she slaps him. Same in Poker. I gather (having played with the Pres.) that this thread is not about poker but about the fact that others think the Pres has some maturing to do. Maybe Pres. Bruno you ought to think about that.

Lulz... the point of this thread is moot because I still cashed in that tournament, therefore the loss on that hand was irrelevant.

Now you want to hear about real DONKS? I was BB'ed on 88 last night and hit trips on flop... I check real quick because there is an Ace on the board and I want to get them to think I got nothing, both villains check... on turn is a 9 and I figure... no.... no one would be THAT donkish to call 10-7 pre-flop... sure enough, the turn busts my trips with a bizarre straight. That is why they are donks. the other guy had Ace-2(there was no 2 on the board)
FAIL

Brilliant, just Brilliant.

FIVE chips more than the starting stack, LEVEL 2 and lose 345 more chips and yet just about to cash ?????

Did this Table have a 'Worm Hole' attached that went straight the the Final Table and heads up ???

Or am I missing something real crucial here ?

Everything you say may very well be true, but I encourage you not to limit the scope of your judgment to 'Poker After Dark' or 'High Stakes Poker.' Phil's television persona may be that way, but look into his philanthropic (pun intended) endeavors away from the felt before passing judgment on his heart or attitude..
Actually, his TV/Poker persona gives the TV shows exactly the thing for which he was hired: ratings.

I thought that was Sartre that said that.

Tazz, I am not talking about the compaison of the two concerning poker....I am refering to them both being little cry babies when they get beat out and how they BOTH think that they always have the better hand and that anyone that plays against them has alot of nerve calling them down (unless they win the hand of course). Yes Helmuth has the bracelets and Pres doesn't (and I will place a bet that he never will unless he gets the luck of Jamie Gold in ONE Tournament). Helmuth is a fantastic player...Pres sucks...but both of them cry louder than any infant I have ever heard.
