hi there, i have recently started running poker tournements at my local pub and get between 6 - 10 players each week, i want to create a league system were u get points every week to encourage people to turn up every week and give bigger prize pools, i just dont no how to create a good system.

Tournament points structure table

Position Points

1st 20

2nd 15

3rd 12

4th 10

5th 8

6th 6

7th 5

8th 4

9th 3

10th 2

11th-last 1

this is the only points system i have come across but how wud a go about it if only 6 turn up, help would be appreciated on a fair format for a system that i can alter and makes sense

Try PM'ing 19honu62 he uses a square root formula for his Cowboy Corral that appears to be what you are looking for.

I couldn't explain it as I am rubbish when it comes to mathematics, but I am sure he will be willing to explain it to you.
