I think a lot of people are missing out on this thread because the updates dont bump the thread up.
So "bump"

its on a sticky so doesnt need a bump but thnx anyway
I switched to NL tables on 3/12/2011 it was at that point that my points exploded
points do = money
I am playing 1cent/2cent NL and 2cent /5 cent NL
planning on 5cent/10cent as soon as possible
If you can play 8 to 12 tables at once you can almost reach platinum star from 1cent/2cent NL
which = money and prizes and tons of points
which begs the question
if platinum star is reachable at 1cent /2cent NL how easy really is supernova with huge prizes and cash rewards
who woulda thought that supernova was reachable at say 2cent/5cent NL
I say it is reachable
at 2cent / 5 cent

Show us the math for that,I am almost 100% sure you cant make Platinum @ 2nl and Supernova is impossible @ 5NL,so interested to see how you figured that out.

7500 VPP are needed for Platinum so you make maybe 6VPP a hour playing 24 tables all day all night for a month. You will be @ 4320 VPP.This is from Bronze Star and this seems to be what you are saying.

IMPOSSIBLE, NEVER
Do the calculations here:
http://www.pokerstars.com/vip/calculator/

6 player ring game at 2nl/4nl on 16 tables at 60hrs a week
will give you approx. 2,971 Vpp's
Not even GOLD and far far away from SUPERNOVA

Number of hands needed on 6 player tables to reach SUPERNOVA
$0.50/$1 need 275,000/year (2hrs a day on 5 tables x 365 days)
$0.25/$0.50 need 450,000/year
$0.10/$0.25
need 800,000/year
$0.05/$0.10 need 975,000/year
$0.02/$0.05 need 1,500,000/year
$0.01/$0.02 need 2,300,000/year (4hrs a day on 20 tables x 365 days)

Why even worry about if you can make platinum or supernova at 2NL or 5NL? If your putting in enough volume that you can even ask this question, you will surely move up in the limits way before ever getting close to supernova.

03/31/2011 Session 125 VIP Status 4535.87 VPP's 4440 Hands 2051 Profit $3.39 Bank $214.29

bull doody
VIP Status 4535 points without even trying half the month on limit
half the month of NL
1c/2c and 2c/5c

so without even trying I almost hit platinum
also I have 9000 points for the year with 4500 points in march alone

so dont even say platinum is impossible
if platinum is possible thats 7000 per month times 12 = 84,000 so 16000 more = supernova
yes it is possible
before you guys screamed no did u even see my VIP status numbers
they are there every single day
for march
look again and think it over

ok just finished one session

03/31/2011 Session 125 VIP Status 4535.87 VPP's 4440 Hands 2051 Profit $3.39 Bank $214.29
03/31/2011 Session 126 VIP Status 4576.41 VPP's 4480 Hands 2349 Profit $1.43 Bank $216.28

made 40.54 points in 2.40 hours with 2349 hands
say I played 8 hours straight instead
it woulda been 120 points
or so
so at 1cent/2cent you can generate 200 points per day
thats at 10 tables
what happens when you play 20 tables instead ?
then you are at 250 points per day
8 hours of play
250 times 30 = 7500 = platinum star
at 1 cent /2cent NL
to make platinum requires 16 plus tables and 8 hour plus per day
at 1cent/2cent
thats my belief
I almost made platinum by accident
with 4500 points

I'm not worried about reaching anything
4500 is almost platinum
7500 is platinum right
7500 times 12 = 90,000 so 10,000 = supernova
I'm just saying I got 4500 points this month not even trying
which makes me wonder if I can reach platinum if I try
gold is easy 10 plus table at 1cent/2cent
platinum requires 16 plus tables and 8 hours plus per day

I played 151,526 hands this month
253 hours or 63 hours per week
or 8.10 hours per day
for 4500 points

Chris,

COME ON
Look at the facts
You've achieved 40.54 Vpp's in 2349 hands
At 6 player tables (which is what you play), there's 75 hands played per hour on an average, therefore that's 31.32 hours. 40.54 Vpp's divided by 31.32 hours, means you make 1.29 Vpp's per hour (per table)

So if you play 24 tables and hour, that's 31 Vpp's per hour, do that for 8 hrs (crazy), that's 248 Vpp's a day and if you do that every day of the month (even more crazy), that's 7,440 Vpp's a month, so if you add an extra 2 hours to the month, yes you do reach Platinum. Now to reach Supernova, you'll be short 10,000 Vpp's, therefore you'll need to add another 33 hrs at 24 tables to obtain it.

So for conclusion you need to play 8.2 hrs EVERY day of the year (365 days) to achieve Supernova at .01/.02. That is totally ridiculous, that's why it's impossible. Be more realistic.

These calculation are based on your last session
I just looked at your stats for the week, you've played about 32,269 hands at .02/.05, 312 at .05/.10 and the rest, 24,701 at .01/.02

So yes you could reach Supernova at half .01/.02 and half at .02/.05 with the same ridiculous hours every day of the year. Don't leave home, no vacation, nothing, nada, just poker.

Good Luck

what I was really trying to point out is how easy it is to make points
makes me wonder how strong the points will be at 5c/10c nl
I play 4 hours daily anyways until my bank is built
if I ever build a large bank then I will reduce my play time

You've achieved 261 Vpp's in 7682 hands playing .02/.05
At 6 player tables (which is what you played), there's 75 hands played per hour on an average, therefore that's 102.42 hours. 261 Vpp's divided by 102.42 hours, means you make 2.54 Vpp's per hour (per table)

So if you play 4 hrs per day for 30 days, that equals 305 Vpp's per table, therefore 16 tables would give you 4,880 Vpp's, far from Platinum. You would need 24 tables to achieve it. At 16 tables, you would need 6.15 hours a day.

What we were trying to say is that it is impossible to reach Supernova at lower than .10/.25 unless you play poker for more than 10 hrs a day, every day of the year

I think what you have proven in the last 3 months, is that even by losing at cash games, all the extra benefits you get and using those benefits in a winning manner, you come out positive. You're sitting at $216, therefore a profit of $166 in 3 months, so the reason for being positive is all the rewards you collected and the Fpp's that you converted into cash via Mtt's or cash.

That's how players make money, it's not only at cash games, it's all the benefits

profit is profit regardless how it gets there'
however I am not happy getting profit just from points
I am striving very hard to attain profit from cash tables period
so far from my tracking I am showing profit of $54.00 from 1c/2c NL
which I plan to play until I move up with larger bank '
my goal for April is $400 with maintaining gold star
then step up
I can only do 16 tables at once by the way
so far anyways
