so i actually deposited on pokerstars for the first time in years...........i have been running well lately, figured why not give it a try again. so i Western Union 100$...+ 15$ WU charge right off the top. uuurgh.

so i am already down 15$ with the WU charge to Costa Rica.....

I played a couple .55 cent tourneys today with HORRIBLE luck....

decided to play a 1.08$ Fifty/Fifty....the tourney where u really only get paid anything if u actually win some chips, otherwise you are pretty much paying .08 cent RAKE.

i take one guy out to double up to 3,245 chips....and then this awesomeness happens..........

beginning to regret depositing already. really tying to stay positive......how do u online money regulars do it?? honestly. look.

yo dude, l'm still up can't sleep, and still a bit pissed from my night out, but anyways will give it a try,

been playing online for years, never made a deposit, cashed out 3 times now, nothing big, but have cashed out, l cashed out only because l want to be a winning player, no that was not a Charlie reference lol.

as per opr, l think it says l have a profit of $350, well something like that, well its alot more then that, trust me on that one, tracting sites, lmo are not correct. well now that l rambled on abit,
l will tell you this,

once l realize that a badbeat or suckout etc. could and will happen, its does not brother me anymore, l expect it, and once you expect it to happen, you will start to enjoy the online game and start winning,
the only thing that tilts me now are certain peeps in the forum, not online poker,

well thats my 2 cents,

hope this helps,

cheers,

Hi Hip Hop,

Getting sucked out when you have the best hand preflop really SUCKS...

Nothing you could have done about the first hand IMHO, but maybe the second you could have slow played the Qs, although I think your opponent would have went all in anyway.

I would bet a pound to a penny that he was a Russian guy; a lot of them, not all mind you, will go all in with any two face cards or any Ace. In the long run though, playing the best hands should win out.

Like you though, I am beginning to wonder when that time will be, because the amount of times my premium pair, sets, flushes, houses get buried on the river is unbelievable. Maybe we just don't have lady luck on our side Somehow, despite all this, I am still making a slight profit

Try the low limit cash games HipHop. Play one table, stake 1.60, get a feel for the types of player you are up against, double your stake, and move to another one. When you are comfortable with it, move it up to two or three tables at a time. No heroics, just steady poker, and you should start making money. Then do what I do and lose all your profit on SitnGos and tournies

If I get a chance later I might post up a thread about which game types suit which players. It is just an observation of mine and it has no scientific evidence to support it but it would be useful to get some feedback.

Hey Hip Hop.

Nice catch on the fish. And just like fishing, the cards will run in your favor eventually. Just be the good fisherman, and keep looking for the fish. There's a ton of them. I took 2 bad sessions yesterday in cash as well. The first was series of beats for hell, but, it happens. The second was just stupidity. I went on semi tilt and was not playing my A game. Once I realized this, I shut off my computer and went to bed. Not saying this was you at all, but, I too, played live casinos more than my online career. I know what the feeling about online poker is w/ most of the regulars at the brick and mortar casinos, and, I think you have made a great transition hip hop. And I've seen you grow, and take the steps to at least ask for help. Not that you'll agree w/ everything ppl say, but, you have really shown a desire to get help. That my friend is the first step to an online winning career. I'm not the best coach/teach on here. But, there are a ton of really bright brilliant players here. Even, at the micro, and free roll levels.

Keep plugging away. I will leave you with these thoughts

- There is no deposit/ withdrawal curse, or rigging done that causes you to lose
- You can not win every hand or every session.
- Unfortunately, everyone will meet the ugly side of variance. Just the rules of Math
- Good News is, the math will eventually catch up. Just keep playing good poker and good luck

Hey HipHop I feel your pain. Many days it can feel like you are the one being "targeted" for bad beat after bad beat. I know for a fact that I am currently the unluckiest player in PSO by far.

I quit playing online on this very site 2 years ago just cause I could not take it anymore and was just sick and tired of getting rocked day in and day out.

I came back to Pokerstars in October only because I saw the new PSO and thought I could get some free cash. I had about $4.50 left in my account and decided like a lot of players to do the whole build a bankroll experiment. Today with help from PSO cash and slightly better play I have $250 to play with, all courtesy of PS and PSO. Even though sicko bad beats from idiot donks still make me want to throw my computer and try to set the record for the longest chat ban in PS history, it's much easier to handle now because this is all free money to me. I enjoy playing online again, my attitude is 100x better and I am using my roll for one reason, become a better player. Long long way to go but its not on my dime anymore so it's all good!!

You are a better player than me I'm sure and you know about all the right tools like BR etc. If you or anyone with basic poker skills puts in some time with PSO, gets some of that free cash and uses it to build your BR I have found it's easier (a little) to handle all the bad beats and donk attacks. I look at it like this, this time I'm getting Pokerstars to pay for my poker education, I might make a few bucks and hopefully become a better player in the end.

This is the true beauty of PSO in my opinion. Good luck and have fun!!

PS -
I don't know much about this game but I try to remind myself of one thing - If I'm not getting hit with bad beats I'm not playing good poker.

Given some of the idiocy that runs rampant in these I was actually shocked to see a hand that good. Of course the last (and only) time I ever did with AQo what he did here, after the hand I did some fingerpainting, had a juice box and then it was nap time.

Guess I'm supposed to fold KK there...............

Oh,and Hip? This is after seeing 3 sets and 1 top 2 pair (AJ) get sunk by 4 on the felt river flush catches,2 were runner runner. That's all in cash plays and all in the last 2 days, plus a bunch of other sick beats.

And I guaranteed (ask brkn80 he was railing when I typed it in chat) that it was coming after I pulled out a couple river sucks myself to help take down a 45 man on Saturday. I never have a run good and not end up paying for it in spades.

And yet I'm still up a little for the month, just gotta play through it and know that when it turns (just returns to a semblance of normalcy/equal/whatever) that I'll go back to hitting my marks.

But yeah it can suck all the joy out of the game sometimes,I hear ya.

"Steaming!!"

I would just pass on those fifty50s unless you are grinding out FPPs.
Hate how you have the potential to win 1/2 your buyin compared to the old DONs.

Collusion will get cranked in these sooner than later.

Keeping the shortstack alive well you punish everyone else on the bubble is the key to making mula.
