So this hand got the game going for me.
Basically first hand with villian and renem24 I do have history with, not sure why he open folded flop but whatever.
The hand I decided to check since a King hits peoples range most of the time and I would be hoping he has AQ type hand and can find a fold.So I check and we go to the turn.
I felt at the time that he could be checking a weak KJ still at this point and would bet it on the turn.
He doesnt and I am happy to check down with Ace high but he bets.
The combo of checking to the river and the bet sizing make it a easy call.
I shouldnt say easy but I do have some gamble in me..Was pretty sure I had the better hand though based on how it played out.Player typed "vnc" and that shows he cant see why I made it.

Not far after I run into this hand.
I open 2.4xbb since the table is playing a little tight and I want some action on this hand.
FInd people are less likely to do so at this lvl from a utg player.
So villian shoves stats where 33/22/0 over 9 hands.
I thought he would not make this play with AA or KK and would be raising for value.
This may seem strange but I checked OPR and he was a competant player, which means he
is well aware of what he is doing here.If this was a donk I might fold depending on the stats and hands before. But good players put the pressure on you and make you sweat rather than the other way around. So knowing this it made the call easier and he shows up with worse.

Adding this just to show what I think.
This is a weak villian and the other player that called was most likely setmining, since I have only seen him showdown those type of hands.
So skipping to the turn he is betting his Ace to protect himself from a flush draw and thats pretty much all I can rep on the river to steal and because he is weak I figured more likely to hero call.
Looking back I should have folded preflop but want to mix it up and not look like I am throwing up the nit gang signs.Bit of meta-game and chance to stack if I hit flush or 2 pair.Meh.

I know I mentioned this earlier but the table is nitty running 18/10/63
So I bet with only one player to worry about and of course he calls giving BB a line to follow.
Gangsta would have bet any ace and other villian was a calling station.
So betting 1/2 pot and folding to any raise.

This is a very common move by decent players that villian makes and I didnt think he would make that move after stealing my SB with BB sitting out.Was tempted to snap it off but will wait it out.

This guy keeps making this play and I keep responding the same way.
I most likely thinks he can set up a big trap by doing this.

I make a mistake here and should have put him allin preflop.
His river line gave me no choice since he isnt folding to a shove and it most likely was mid pair.

So this is the hand I got out on and as soon as he opened utg I was thinking I should fold.
He had not mad a play in 19 hands at the table and I knew he would snap call my allin.
Was 6 to the bubble but the bubble is very long in these and this felt like my only chance to make it through.Still debating if I could have stalled and banked off my clock.
Was hoping for AQ or AK for a race, more I think about this the moe I should have folded.

So thats pretty much all the hands that mattered in this tourney.
Thoughts and questions are all good.

Two thumbs up from TheLangolier! Nice read dirty.

I think the QJ was a good fold, even having identified the villain is a strong player so we know he's 3b shoving a wide range, QJ doesn't play all that well even vs. a wide range (55-45 dog vs. even a 33% shoving range, which would be really wide). I definitely know the feeling wanting to snap it off there when you know exactly what they're doing, but it's really not a great spot.

I do like going with 99 on 6 bigs at the end. Your equity is roughly flipping vs what I figure to be his calling range, and that's a risk worth taking this short (beggers can't be choosers). Especially when you don't think you can even get past the bubble if you wait... and particularly with an eye towards getting back in the game for a deep run.
