Wynn Resorts Announces Alliance with PokerStars!!!!!!!

Wynn Resorts, Limited (NASDAQ: WYNN) announced today that it has entered into a strategic relationship with PokerStars, the world’s largest online poker business.

The companies will first work to secure the passage of federal legislation that will finally and conclusively define illegal internet gambling, provide law enforcement with the tools necessary to stop illegal internet gambling, protect consumers by establishing a robust regulatory environment for the safe operation of online poker by experienced operators, and establish a regime for the assessment and collection of taxes.

This is great news. I thought the entire casino industry was going to fight PokerStars...

So... Is the PStars RNG still gonna be RIGGED!?(a joke for anyone that was actually wondering...)

I think the casino operators are much better off partnering with the established online poker sites than they would be trying to open their own online gaming sites. Wynn is huge, so this is a great first step.

Didn't a cpl Las Vegas Casino's try to get into the online thing a few years ago, with no success, but that was not merging w/anyone. It is good news, of course Steve Wynn is going to be involved in anything that is going to turn a great profit, he's very good at that. They just had a 60 minute episode about a month ago, exploring the online gambling, had steve wynn on there, they seemed "they" not sure exactly "they" are govt etc. says they are more worried about "underage" users getting online and doing irresponsible gambling. At least that's what I got out of it. 60 minutes only "endorsed" one site for safe gambling, and that was sportsbook.com, as they felt they were the most secure site out there for not letting underage people on to their site.

the smartest and sound decision by wynn resorts, instead of fighting a large corporation like pokerstars, join them..if u can beat them then join them is a good motto..i am looking forward to having a chance to win a package thru wynn resorts..no doubt there have the best hotels and buffets as well. easy to get a room comp and food if u play a little craps and blackjack..

This sounds like great news for those players in the USA-,cept for the tax part-- but hey - thats the way of the world-- and i will mention this- for information purposes only- the Province of British Columbia- here in Canada- some months ago went 5 steps further than that- the government opened their own gambling site- chalked full of games- including even slots-- and to my knowledge- as lottery winnings in this country are not taxed- nor would be any winnings on said site--!! So- happy for you all- and maybe this is a good thing- yet beware the man who serves pudding for dessert, when his/her pudding- is dependent on the ingredients-- as always-- gl-- and keep your wars overseas-!!!

Everyone seems to be finding about the Wynn partnership because of what's happening today. This was something in the works for at least a month, and now everyone thinks this is because of the current allegations.

Talks are dissolved, and PokerStars has yet to comment(meaning the ties with Wynn could not have been announced in response to todays events).
