I have to say I'm impressed by Labutesude7 and his discipline to ride out the month and not be tempted to play again.

He made his run early - set a number and has not played a game since March 13th. Doesn't look like anyone will catch him on the last day, but even if someone does I think it was a smart move to shut it down the way he did.

How many players in prior months have reached high point totals early then continued to play and saw their shot at first place and even a top 10 go down in flames. (do I need to ask 30 peeps?)

Some people might say he is being to cautious or worse showing no guts but in my mind he may have just shown us all a road map to the top 10. He played first 13 days and roughly 45 games or so - ran a hot streak and then shut it down I'm assuming till someone actually passes him for first place. I say nice strategy and not a bad way to make $1500.

Future POS rabbits may want to take note. Good luck to everyone next month and amazing to think March PSO may have been over by the 13th.

Well if he's done it, I don't think it's by more than a point.

Fascinating end to the league. The last game looks to have had quite an impact on the top 10. Shame about the scandal that's brewing, because in all other respects I think it's been the best month yet.

He had two things going for him................

A. He played some Damn good poker the first two weeks of the month to put up a very good score under the new 10% ITM paradigm.

B. Apparently he doesn't know 30 peeps here.................

Congratulations Lab. Well done indeed.

This is my first time that I play in the league and I surprise that in the last months nobody got to the 2000 points, taking into account that there are many people that plays 4, 5 or 6 tournaments per day.

In the last months I was playing the spanish league, in the first months nobody got to the 2200 points, but now, in the last 2 months, the winners exceed the 2400 points. In february also a player only played the first tournaments and after didn't play more, and maybe soon the players will arrive to the 2500 or 2600 points, is a change of mentality.

With 2 days the leader has scored 192 points, only need 239 points more to arrive at the 1931 points that achieved the winner of the last month, he have 168 tournaments to achieve 239 points. In my case, I get 101 points in 2 days, I need 330 points. I think that soon there will be a change of mind as in spanish league and in the next months the winner will need 2000, 2100 or 2200 points to win, and nobody will be able to be so many days without playing.

I believe this league has a different scoring sysytem than the league you are used to, we'll see how you do if you get to 1900. But good luck!

yes, the scoring system is different, there are 2 tournament per day and you can get 90 points if you arrive at the final table, but the normal is obtain arround 40 points per day. Here the players that arrives at the money places obtain 30-35 points, and there are 6 tournaments per day to get a good score, if you play a tight poker it's relatively easy arrive to the positions from which points are not reduced, making 35 points per day you come to 1700 points in 6 days, with 30 points per day come to 1800 in 3 more days, witch 20 points per day come to 1900 points in 5 more days, 14 days in total, you have 16 more days, with a 10 points per day would be 2060 points at the end of the league, but in the last 3 months nobody has overcome the 1960 points, I think that very soon someone will get more that 2100 points at the end of the league, maybe me... LOL Good luck for you also =D

FOOD 4 THOUGHT?

by EasyChips4U 03/24/2011 15:32

Just scrutinizing my own results 4 PSO Skill League March month... b4 the start of Mar 24, 10:00 ET Skill League Tourney. I see that on Mar 11, I had accumulated 1880.05 pts after the 13:00 ET Skill League Tourney. The 1880.05 pts represented my peak, up to that point in time... and continues to represent the same. I'm also certain I was sitting somewhere in the Top 10. Since then, goin on 2 weeks later, I'm startin off today wid 1829.21 pts and ranked 88th overall... a net loss of -50.84 pts. It certainly has been a roller coaster ride over the course of the last 2 weeks. I'm just wondering... what if I'd just sat pat @ 1880.05 pts, and waited until I was pushed out of... we'll say... top 25. If I had chosen this strat... way back... on Mar 11... today... I would presently be sitting in 12th overall. Hmm... :S Just puttin it out there 4 all 2 ponder, and maybe learn something from my experience.

Easy

* - the 1880.05 would have been good for 23rd overall end of March without ever having to play a game for the remainder of the month. A little added credibility to Lab's strat... Congrats

At least your slump and roller coaster ride didn't wind up costing you any cash in the end, as you still wound up in a $50 payout slot.
