It was deemed to be directly recruiting people to play on sites besides Pokerstars.

Did you really need to ask thaqt Eric?

Possibly the most obviously correct closure I have ever seen here!

Can't really argue with Joe here from a technical standpoint.

Shark was recruiting players to play on another site, as innocent as it may have seemed. Some of us may already play there, and of course it is pretty much impossible for Americans to play on Pokerstars.

However...

Joe can we get some clarification please? The rules state no links to other sites, I don't remember a link in shark's post. I didn't see anything else regarding discussing play on other sites. I suppose it falls under advertising --

its someone trying to keep people from the pso playing poker together at a place they can play...we cant play here at the moment so whats the harm? if ps lets us play we will be back but if we all wanna play with the same people from here at another site then thats whats gonna happen, i think a lil bit of understanding on this matter is not out of the question

Do you think the man at Mcdonalds would be welcome back if he continued to leave BK advertising all over the Place?

lol that was funny

However, you really can't blame him for closing that thread. That was one of the most obvious ones that needed closing due to advertising other sites.

I do see Joe's and PS point on this one.

However, I did join Carbon, not to play on it, specifically but for two reasons.

I miss playing against US players who have contributed a lot to this site and helped me improve my game a little.

I will deposit 50$, not specifically for playing myself, but to help anyone wanting to build a roll, just as I was helped here.

I also wanted to show my support to US players, who through no fault of their own, are unable to play real money poker on Pokerstars and other sites, and no longer have access to funds on their accounts.

I still will play almost exclusively on Stars. Carbon from what I have seen is a pretty poor imitation, but I understand why US players, who cannot play here have registered there.

Thanks

TC

If Pokerstars was worried about players going to other sites they would open up freerolls to U.S. players until we are able to play cash buy-in games once again. Freerolls constitute a contest under U.S. federal laws and are therefore exempt from the UIEGA. By not allowing any form of play PS is driving people to other sites where they may stay once cash play resumes.

Whilst I can't disagree that may be the case Joe I think in the current situation a bit of slack should be given to players who are to be honest trying to keep their community together.

There is an argument that sites on which US players can actually play on are technically not rivals to PS at this moment in time.

Perhaps PS should pay more attention to upping their customer relations at the moment if they are concerned about losing players to other sites.

It is also worth consdering that within the "Content of Contributions" is the following:

• Content that is criminal in nature, pornographic, harmful to young people, insulting or defamatory

strictly speaking according to the charges currently being laid some of this sites very own content and published matter may well have technically breached that particular rule.

That was funny.

@joe. Sorry brotha, was just trying to keep some of the US PSO community alive. Was wondering if it is ok to post my progress there? if not, no worries

@everyone else. GL all, and I'll return as soon as they let me. I will still be snooping around.

@Alpha. Really? Thought you'd have a little more sensitivity after the last go around w/ me. Not just in this post of yours, others as well Alpha. Please try to restrain yourself. I believe I'm due this from ya.
