I have recently devoured this book in two days. It is both enthralling and beautifully written. For those of you who don’t know Vicky Coren, she is a successful English rose of a poker player. She is also an author, journalist, and appears semi-frequently on panel shows here in the UK. This book is her poker memoir, chronicling her journey from “never disgracing an ace” in her elder brother’s home games as an awkward teenager, to her $ million success at the EPT London.

In between is a wonderfully woven story of seedy late night London poker games, quirk characters and deeply personal revelations, all of which are gracefully touched with Coren’s dry sense of humour. It is also really interesting to be exposed, on a much more personal level, to some of the big money players that we see on our TV screens. Over the course of the book we become privy to Vicky’s interactions with Jake Cody, Neil Channing, Roland de Wolfe, the Devilfish, and many more big poker names.

If you like reading and you like poker then I could not recommend this book more highly. Even if you only like one or the other, then I doubt you will be disappointed.

Excellent read indeed Swax, theres a fair bit of "artistic" license in there but it all adds flavour to what is a very well written book and an insight into what most of us never get to see behind the circuit.
