If you're building up FPP then try using them to build up tourney dollars. I turned my FPP into $30 real money, moved it to WSOP and now it's over $100 .

To play or not to play ... the monthly dilemma ...

One time I stopped playing because I thought i was good (as in set in my 'zone' to cash at the end of the month if I just sat out). But all these people made a last second push at the end of the month and I wound up in 1001st place and didn't get a dime

Then the next month I did the same thing, and it turned out okay.

This month is different because if I keep playing, I could go up a bracket, I could go down a bracket ... or two!

Anybody else have stories about playing or sitting, and then going up or down? Glad they did or didn't? Wish they had or hadn't?

I'm still playing Barry ... figure we still have 7 days? or is it 6?

Twice...once sitting at about 83rdish or so...last day, 2 games to go, not sure what to do. I didn't want to lose the 20 for falling out of top 98. I decided I would do one and it didn't go well. If I remember right, it wasnt severe negative points...but it was putting me very close to 98th. There was 1 left. Now this was actually a relief. I knew I could be a lot more free in my play as I HAD to cash. I still could sit and take my chances..but as it turned out, if I had, I would have fallen to 101st from sitting. Like I said, I could play freely and just go for a normal mtt game and play a lot more aggressively than we normally do in the pso. I accumulated a nice stack and never let the pressure off anyone. It was a +$20 game.

The second was the last month US players could participate I believe. Somewhere around 5 days to go I was up over 1870 and lost points on a tourney. The debate in my head was to go for top ten or just hang up the 1840-50ish score and say..come and get this $50 if you can. The latter of the 2 sure seemed a lot easier. Watching very closely..no one stole it. I'm not sure what I finished at, but comfotably in the top 98.

Trusty Sam, just last month I woke up on may 31st in 4th place, now I was a whitestar but Iam looking at 50$ well at that point De Hitman was in 5th place like literally 1 point behind me so Iam like I know he is playing I wanna protect my 4th place and that was my mistake just trying to protect so I played the 10am and lost 1 point lol so I was like hmmmmm gotta play the 1pm now and oh what a mistake that was well now Iam trying to play catch up to at least get my points back to 4th oh my god talk about all the wrong moves what is it we say when we go to the casino you gotta have rules and if you fall to your limit of money willing to spend pack it in and go home dont try to make it back, cause its not gonna happen, I think I needed to pack it in and land where I land at the end of the 31st who knows maybe I finish in 10th place but nope I fell all the way to 17th, which still isnt bad considering I played all 6 games that day but think of this had I not played where would i have been? we will never know but yep sounds like the stories you be looking for so had to share :-)

PS I also ask myself had I went into it with the attitude of going for 1st instead of just protecting my 4th place maybe things would of been different?

That's a good story too Bones - not a feel-good story, but a learn-from-somebody-else's-experience, kind of a story. Those are good too.

I like the idea of setting a limit - like if I wind up in total freefall the next couple of days, then maybe once I hit the bottom of the next prize bracket, I should think about just cutting my losses and taking the cash.

Wow that's a tough one being in the top 10 ... so much competition to get and keep that extra money. Who knows if even you had just sat whether that would have been enough? Sounds like if you were hoping to make 4th or better and wound up 31st that wasn't the way you had hoped things would turn out ideally. But last month I had a terrible downswing and wound up just making $5. So $50 sounds like something to really be proud of!! Congrats on finishing top 50!!!

Oh, right. Wow, that doesn't seem right that you and I both got the same prize when you came in top 20 and I came in ... well, a lot farther down the leaderboard

Glad to see you're eligible for the full amount this month!
