I think your first preflop raise is a bit much. You raised to 5BB, which is a bit much for QQ. I'd have raised to about 3-3.5BB. When min raised back, you're pot committed, so you might as well put the last 235 into the pot.... BUT.... realize that there are really only 3 hands that you're probably up against, AA, KK and AK... you're dominated by 2 of them and a coin flip with the other.

If you raise less first, then you can just call their re-raise preflop and make sure that they don't flop an A or a K to beat you. If you then see an A or K, you can get away from QQ and still have some chips to get farther into the tourney to try to get to positive points.

I really don't like raising 1/3 of my stack, though I guess since we're never folding it's defensible. If he calls we have an auto shove on the flop.

On 12 BBs our choices should be shove or fold pretty much. The thing is we have a huge monster of a hand that we may want to use to double up instead of just blind steal.

Not shoving here is extremely aggressive. It's the kind of play that's likely to win us a huge pot or send us packing, winning a huge pot more often than not. Still I'd prefer to limp a monster like this with the intention of shoving over a raise (and expecting to get snapped by 88, AT etc., hahaha), rather than make a raise for 1/3 our stack. This kind of play only works if there are aggressive limp-punishers at your table. If they're passive you have to raise.

Also, note he did NOT minraise you. He intentionally doubled your bet. A minraise would be to 1350. Obviously you committed yourself already so you have to just get it in and hope he doesn't have KK or AA.
