You played that one absolutely correctly.
Especially last tourney of the month.... be alot tighter than normal until you hit the positive point mark, as you don't have any other tournies to make up the points in.
I'd have put them on AQ, KQs, 55 or 33.... either way, you're in deep trouble if you call.

Some of these decisions can be made a lot easier on the last day of the month, particularly the last tourney or two.
Are you in no way in danger of losing a pay spot...say falling from 50 to 30 and so on? If so, you can afford to be aggressive and go for it. If you're in the top 10..well you have to play your normal style and protect your score while attempting to climb a spot or two.
Let's say for example that a player is in the 20's on the leader-board. You obviously can take a stab at the top ten, and in order to achieve that, you are likely going to need to make a top 3. Should you bomb out and leave early, you're still safe to remain in the top 98.

If you're in one of these no lose situations, be very aggressive early as other players may be playing to protect their rank or possibly move up a spot or two to a better pay position. You can exploit that! Get a big stack early without fear of being knocked out and play the bully the rest of the tourney. It works..from experience.

the QQ hand, it's a good fold when the A hits on the flop. What I'd have done differently was to not raise as much preflop with it. You put almost 1/2 your chips into it, which makes folding to an overcard alot tougher. If you raise less and have less of your chips in the pot, it makes for an easier fold if you see overcards (and gives you more chips to last farther into the tourney and get to positive points).
