But if you qualify for the Premier League next month won't that be worth it?
I mean I know this month will be difficult dealing with all the donks but next month...

Yeh sure would i guess but i personally dont want too play in what is described as a skill league but clearly is not a s kill league now.

It is morally wrong letting all these freeroll trolls in the league just like that.

peace

enjoy life there is better things to do.

It is now a donkfest - treat it as such. PSO only want peeps that pour money into its coffers: and that makes perfect business sense for them.

This is not the case at all. For those capable, earning premier league status this month will be very valuable in my opinion. Once we have fully launched the league and had some time to review it we will be looking at how to improve it. We do need people as always to remain patient while we go through this process.

Well I have to say that after a year if this an improvement I am totally baffled.

Just wanted to join the ongoing tounament, there were no available seats. Guess I'll have to change my strategy again, no more late registering...
Maybe putting up a rule that lets PSO members register even after the maximum number has been hit, it's not fair that loyal PSO players don't get a chance to play in a tournament meant for them.

OK, I'm totally disgusted that it's still called a SKILL league.I just watched 3000 people go out in TEN MINUTES!! I really can't see how this is going to improve anyone's SKILL unless it's to teach you to go all-in with the worst starting hands. In the time it took to write this (10 minutes) it's down to 5176.This a JOKE now, whereas before I had a bit of pride.Sorry PSO.looks like a real downer for the people that supported you this last year. By the way,are there any POSITIVE comments yet?? 5/5 on my sh*t list

Unfotunately it is still listed under the Private tab as well as the normal freeroll tab - goodness knows why.

It should be renamed Hubble 2

Reference Live Training pso mentioned - I have been reviewing several of the videos of late and I also took part in one last week.

All very good; but totally useless in a donkfest pure and simple. Within about 4 mins of the last (and so far only one) I took part in the chip leader had over 16k chips to fling around. Strategy is to tighten up but with all-in every single hand it becomes a game of bingo not poker but instead of about 1k peeps it is now 10k peeps.

Where was the forward thinking from pso in this?

I cant see the point of having to beat 7000 nuts (AA busted by J4 off suit all in ... just a for instance) to be able to play in our league again next month.

PSO answerd my complaint saying, I have to play with more patience and they are sure that the best 1500 will float to the top! Well you know, solid play in an all in atmosphere is not rewarded .... cos by the time you get a decent hand you're out of chips.

I went out 3500 + / - with QQ busted by 2 cards unsuited lower than a 6 !!! I raised he put me all in, the guy was a nut, what should I do fold QQ?

I'm with you MB they have done this to turn more money over .... its in their interest and not ours.

My mama is 73 and loved pokerschool untill today ... she saw 7000+ registered and decided she wouldn't live long enough to make it to the final table. Well done PS you stopped a lovely older lady enjoying her afternoon tea in the UK ... playing poker on poker stars!!!!!!

Shoving with AA and getting cracked isn't so outrageous. That is the nature of these new and stupidly bloated fields.

I've yet to get busted early by one of 'em, but honestly - you have my sympathy. This new format is incredibly frustrating if you're trying to apply the lessons from the PSO School material.

But...

None of the training material covers this new format, so your strategy has to adjust.

While AA is a great holding to boss the table around with pre-flop in standard MTTs, here, you need to pay more attention to potential post-flop situations, during the early to mid phases (possible even late, depending on your table landscape).

By shoving your early stage Aces, although technically the right move, you're surrendering to potentially disastrous situations for your league scoring rate, when you DO NOT NEED TO!

If you're playing for league points then unfortunately you do have to consider laying these down, until sometimes quite late stages, to ride out the now monstrous variance that is being seen by many.

Donks increase your bad variance seemingly much more often than they do for your good variance, whenever you try to play the "accepted" form of poker while they crowd your table.

It's a hard hand to fold and you'll kick yourself whether you call it or not, much more often than you would like. But, you need to think about your tournament life (and by extension, the league), instead of only your current holding and the pot your in.

That bigger picture, is your friend. Pocket-porn (like bullets), is not your friend in every situation.

PS: Oh....and cheap flops almost always offer good ground to hunt on, when you can get onto them.

I agree 100% with this new PSO league amalgamation having become a brutal donkfest. Here's my email I sent to PSO hoping to see changes and improvements SOONER rather than later as in RIGHT FRIKKING NOW!

I have a few issues with the new PSO league and the way it has been combined with other PSO leagues. #1 is the fact that there are now so many players that it has become impossible to even register for some of the tournaments. I just tried regtering for the 13:00 tourney today July 4th at least 5 minutes prior to registry time ending and it was already 10,000 full and impossible to get in even though I tried about a dozen times by quick clicking "REGISTER" and "CONFIRM". IMPOSSIBLE and frustrating as hell.

SOLUTIONS:
#1 EXPAND:expand the maximim entries to 15-25K as Im sure PSO is only going to become MORE popular and not less.
#2 BUST OUTS REPLACED:allow for people to LATE REGISTER in FULL tournaments by filling in spots as people get busted out after the tournament has started. That happens so quickly in the first 5-10 minutes of LATE REGISTERING that this should more than allow for the people queing up waiting to get into the PSO tourneys.

PLAYERS SITTING OUT - HUGE PROBLEM
These PSO tourneys need to be programmed so that SITOUTS get KICKED OUT. Players that are SITTING OUT after the 5-10 minute LATE REGISTRY period is over should be given maybe an extra 5 minutes after that...say 15 minutes and BOOM you get booted and are given the negative pts that go along with exiting at that stage of the tournament. This is a HUGE problem by the way. I have SAT OUT myself in 2 tourneys so far to see what the results would be. As expected I received 5 pts in a 10K full tourney and 10 pts in another 7.5K entry tourney. This never happened in the previous PSO skill league before amalgamation. What kind of SKILL league allows for players to benefit by SITTING OUT the whole tourney??? This is ridiculous and needs to be corrected ASAP. I figure that with 180 tourneys a month and sitting out each and every one after registering, I can amass for example 900 pts in 90 tourneys and 450 pts an another 90 tourneys for a grand total of 2850 pts with ZERO downside. I just need to set my alarm clock for 4:45 AM EST, REGISTER to SIT OUT and then back to sleep. I'm awake for the other 5 tourneys so no problem there as long as I can register at 15 minutes prior to the tourney starting so that I am not LEFT OUT due to the tourney being FULL.

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person to figure this out.

And I understand that Poker Stars is hurting a bit after the US lawmakers (FBI) hit PS where it hurts and that amalgamating 3 PSO leagues is a financial decision that will save PSO a few hundred thousand in a year I'm guessing. Doesn't take a genius to figure out that making a 150 VPP level will see a lot more players playing at cash tables much more than they otherwise would have in a lot of cases. PSO league is still an awesome way to learn poker skills and pad a bankroll. Hopefully the new PSO league will be improved and some of these very major problems will be dealt with in the very near future.

Thank You

PS requiring at least a 1525 pt minumum if not more like 1600 pt minimum to remain in the SKILL LEAGUE. The 0 pts, 20 VPP and 150 Pt levels should be 3 SEPERATE leagues and not combined at all. If you dont get at least 1600 pts in the 20 VPP league you get booted down to the 0 pt league. We could even call them "Beginner <20 pt", "Intermediate >20pt and "eXPERT >150 pt" leagues. That way at least there would be a seperation between freerolling non cash players, semi serious cash players and very serious cash players. No other qualifying for the o pt league, 1525 pt qualification for the 20 pt league or next month you get booted down to the free league, 1700 pts allows you to qualify for the 150 pt expert league. If you dont get 1525 in expert 150 pt league you get booted down to the 20 pt intermediate league. This would make PSO a true SKILL league.

Expos: Much as many may not like it, I don't think much is going to change soon - the lead-in for August's Premier League, means a 2 month minimum stretch of this ahead, if you don't manage to climb high enough in July.

Play well enough this month though and you can escape a lot of them through August.

The game has changed. So the way you play in it, also has to change.

There's a lot of helpful game pointers around coming from the wellspring of the PSO forums (way ahead of the training material), so you may want to have a read around and see if you can find a different edge to help you survive into the better points.

Trust me, it's a million miles from impossible.

what a load of shit. we're not stupid. we know the reason for this donk fest and the 150 vpp thing isnt for us to have valuable games. its coz the americans cant play and ur trying to claw back some rake.

Nice idea I support

What about adding waiting lists?
